SUPERIOR EXPRESS April 2002 Opal ANDERSEN Opal (Hancock) Andersen, 93, was born to Henry Wesley and Verna (McBride) Hancock on a farm near Gann Valley, S. D., on July 10, 1908. She died April 26. On May 25, 1935, she married Helmer Andersen. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 20, 1998; brothers Carl and Gene, two sisters, Ada Wilson and Elnora Mae Porter; and three infant brothers. Survivors include two brothers, Lloyd Hancock, Mansfield, Mo., and Glen Hancock, Bois D'Arc, Mo., and a nephew, Donald Hancock, Superior. Services were Sunday from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. Interment was in the Hardy Cemetery. Opal WATSON Opal C. Watson, 92, daughter of Russell and Myrtle Pearl (Taylor) Spicer was born July 1, 1909, at Stoddard, Neb. She died Friday at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital, Superior. Married Charles Murrey on Nov. 13, 1929. Married Charles F. Watson on Sept. 17, 1933. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Watson, one son, Donald Murrey; two brothers, Harold Spicer and Garold Spicer and one sister, Betty Rowland. Services were Wednesday at the Formoso Community Church, Formoso. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville was in charge of arrangements. Ruth HANSEN April 28, 2002 Ruth Ella Hansen, 79, the daughter of Lloyd and Bertha (Riggens ) Hepler was born May 5, 1922, at Lawrence, Neb. She died April 28, 2002. On May 5, 1942, , she married Rasmus H. Hansen in the Methodist Chapel, Superior. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rasmus on July 27, 1985; two brothers, John and Jake Hepler; three sisters, Neva Malpert, Lavita Stichka and Eva Trenary; and one grandson. Services from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. Interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Kathleen MIETH Services were held Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Hebron for Kathleen Mieth, 72. Kathleen Louise (Wehrman) Mieth was born Feb. 15, 1930, in Nelson. She was the second child of Homer and Esther (Long) Wehrman. She died Friday in Aurora. On July 20, 1953, she married Ramon Mieth of Cairo, Nebraska. Preceded in death by her parents. Price Funeral Home, Hebron, was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Hebron City Cemetery. SUPERIOR EXPRESS June 26, 2002 Harold Arthur (Shorty) BRAUN, 80, son of Fred and Agnes (Moran) Braun, was born May 21, 1922, near Ruskin. He died June 18, 2002, in Superior. On Jan. 30, 1949, he married LuEtta M. Hobelman at Centennial Lutheran Church, Superior. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Irvin. Services were held Friday from the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of arrangements. Rodney WULF Rodney Wayne Wulf, 52, the son of Lawrence Frederick and Donna Marie (Lamb) Wulf, was born Sept. 1, 1949 at Hastings. He died following surgery June 15 at the Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif. He married J. LouRee McMillen on Mar 10, 1973 at the Guide Rock United Methodist Church. Preceding him in his death were his father, Lawrence F. Wulf; a sister, Rhonda Coleen. Services were held Friday from the Guide Rock United Methodist Church. Military graveside rites were presented by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery with the Simonson-Williams Funeral Home of Red Cloud in charge of arrangements. Robert REEVE Hastings resident Robert A. Reeve, 54, died Sunday at his home after a year-long battle with cancer. Services were Wednesday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Hastings. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, at a later date. Mr. Reeve was born May 17, 1948 to Oren and Estella (Karnatz) Reeve in Superior. On June 17, 1966, he married Carolyn Miller. They divorced. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Olive ORTGIES Olive Marina Ortgies, 87, the daughter of Guy Milton and Martha Emilie (Birkholz) Schoenholz, was born Feb. 9, 1915, on a farm near Alexandria. She died Monday in Hebron, Neb. She married Arthur Ortgies of Alexandria, on Dec. 2, 1932. Their first son was still born and was followed by two sons and a daughter. Preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; her son, Keith; a son-in-law Jimmy Bruning; brothers, Harry, Marvin, Roy and Norman; sisters, Geraldine Kraemer and Doris Steinauer.
