WAVERLY NEWS March 26, 2002 Larry L. HARRIS of Waverly died March 26 in Lincoln at the age of 62. Services were held Saturday, March 30 at Wadlow-Rozanek Colonial Chapel in Lincoln. Born Sept. 17, 1939 to Archie and Frieda (Oellerich) Harris in Table Rock. He served in the US Army and while station in Germany met his wife, Karen. They were married Dec. 24, 1963 in Stuttgart-Muhlhausen, Germany. Military graveside services, with the Ft. Riley Honor Guard from Lawrence, KS, were held Saturday afternoon at Table Rock Cemetery. WAVERLY NEWS APRIL 28, 2002 Maxine MALONE Services for Gloria "Maxine" Malone of Waverly were held April 22 at the First United Methodist Church in Waverly. She died April 17 in Lincoln at the age of 78. Born in Harvard to George and Grace (Pallett) Eastham June 6, 1923. She was a former elementary school teacher having taught in Waverly for three years and in Wann for two years. Burial was at Rosehill Cemetery in Waverly. WAVERLY NEWS week of May 7, 2002 Gertrude KRIESER A private family burial for Gertrude Krieser of Lincoln was held last month. Formerly of Waverly, died at the age of 91. Born May 23, 1910, she was a teacher, farm wife and was active in the community and church. Her husband, Arnold, preceded her in death. WAVERLY NEWS June 2002 Cecil "Joe" DEY Funeral services for Cecil "Joe" Dey were held June 5 at Metz Chapel in York. He died June 1 at the age of 88. Burial was at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Gresham. Mary A. CHUDOMELKA, 91, of Ames died June 14 in Fremont. Mary Gloser was born Mar. 5, 1911 in Omaha. Married Sam R. Chudomelka Aug. 16, 1934 in Clarkson. Sam preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1992. Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Tillie (Synek) Gloser; husband, Sam; son, Armand Richard Chudomelka; grandson, Gregory Anderson; and son-in-law, Duane L. Anderson. Services were held June 18 at the old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. WAVERLY NEWS July 2002 Emery SHARP A journeyman mason for Crown Zellerback in Camas, Emery Sharp died June 12 in Vancouver. He was 85. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; one daughter, Christine Manger of Simi Valley, CA; sons, Paul of Camas and Larry of Sweet Home, OR; sisters, Hennrietta Turk of Oregon, Ruth Hutchinson of Cannon City, CO and Violet Halverson of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Harold of Craig, CO and Louis of Crete; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
