Funeral services were Friday, March 29, 2002, at the Zion 
Lutheran Church near Bancroft. Burial in the church cemetery.

Theresa PARR, 88, Dodge died Tuesday, March 26, 2002. 
Services were Saturday, March 30, 2002, at St. Wenceslaus 
Catholic Church, Dodge. Burial in the church cemetery, rural Dodge. 
Humlicek Funeral Home, Dodge, was in charge of arrangements. 

Stephen WIMMER of Arlington Heights, Ill., died Monday, April 1, 2002. 
Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point.

Eugene L. (Gene) RARICK, 93, Loveland, Colo., died March 29, 2002. 
Cremation was held with a private family service to be held at a later date. 
Allnutt Funeral Service, Hunter Chapel, Loveland, Colo., was in charge of 
arrangements. 

Eunice Emma ALBUS, 66, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at her farm 
home north of West Point. Services were Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Zion 
Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft. Burial in the church cemetery. Stalp 
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

Frances B. MIKES, 86, Scribner, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002. 
Graveside funeral services were Saturday, March 30, 2002, at the 
Scribner Cemetery in Scribner. Munderloh Funeral Home was in 
charge of arrangements. 

Stephen H. WIMMER, 55, died Monday, April 1, 2002, in Skokie, Ill. 
Funeral services were held Friday, April 5, 2002, at Christ Lutheran 
Church in Palatine, Ill., and Monday, April 8, 2002, at Grace Lutheran 
Church in West Point. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery, West Point. 
Stalp Funeral Home, West Point, were in charge of arrangements. 

Funeral services for Robert A. (Bob) RABE, 78, Wisner, were April 6, 2002
at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner. Burial in the Wisner Cemetery. 
He died Wednesday, April 3, 2002. Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home, Wisner
was in charge of arrangements. 

Janet E. PEKAREK, 58, Howells, died Monday, April 8, 2002 in Omaha. 
Funeral services were Thursday, April 11, 2002, at St. John’s Catholic 
Church in Howells. Burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery at Howells.

Jacob Allen BULL, 5, died Saturday, April 6, 2002. 
A celebration of his life was held April 10 at Trinity Methodist 
Church, Ralston. Burial was in the Flower Hill Cemetery in Omaha.

Carlos Loya Prieto, 75, died April 8, 2002, in Lyons. Funeral services 
were April 12, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons. Burial in 
the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons. Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home, Oakland 
was in charge of funeral arrangements. 

Leslie VAN CLEAVE, Jr.
Leslie D. (Les) Van Cleave, Jr., 79, Snyder, formerly of South Sioux City, died 
April 8, 2002, at a South Sioux City Nursing Home. Services were April 13, 2002
at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Homer. Military graveside services were held in the 
Green Valley cemetery, rural Homer. Hunt Funeral Home, South Sioux City, was 
in charge of arrangements.

Enno BUDDE
Memorial services for Enno John Budde, Phoenix, Ariz., were April 15, 2002, 
at Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix, Ariz. He died April 11, 2002. Survivors 
include his wife, Luella and 17 nieces and nephews including Warren (Gus) 
and Karen Wesche of West Point.

James HARPER 
James Richard (Dick) Harper, 97, died April 11, 2002 in Schuyler. 
Funeral services were April 15, 2002, at New Zion Presbyterian Church 
in Clarkson. Interment at Clarkson National Cemetery. Miller Funeral 
Home, Clarkson was in charge of arrangements. 

Margaret KREIKEMEIER
Margaret M. Kreikemeier, 95, West Point, died April 14, 2002 in Beemer. 
Funeral services were April 16, 2002, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in 
West Point with burial in St. Boniface Cemetery at Monterey, west of 
West Point. Stalp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements 

Dewey CARLE
Dewey W. Carle, Sergeant Major, US Army (Ret), 74, died July 16, 2001, 
at his home in Hammond, La., after a lengthy illness. He was the son of 
the late Mr. and Mrs. John Carle. Dewey graduated from West Point High 
School in 1945. His ashes will be laid to rest at a graveside service on 
May 21, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton.

Donna NEWELL
Donna Lorraene Newell, 67, died April 11, 2002, at Omaha. 
Funeral services were April 16, 2002, at First Lutheran Church, Omaha. 
Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Omaha. Roeder Mortuary, Inc., 
Omaha, was in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Semrau, 87, died April 14, 2002, in Sioux City, Iowa, after a short 
illness. Funeral services were April 17, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Church,

of arrangements.

John H. Luedert, 72, Rosalie, died April 20, 2002 in Pender. 
Funeral services were April 23, 2002, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 
in Bancroft. Burial in the Bancroft City Cemetery. Munderloh Funeral

Agnes MARTIN
Agnes F. Martin of Brighton died April 12, 2002. Funeral services

Michael COONEY
Michael R. Cooney, 65, Walthill, died Friday, April 12, 2002, in 
Sioux City, Iowa, following an accidental fall. Services were held 
April 15, 2002, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill. Burial was 
in the Bancroft City Cemetery.

Lila Anne Strehle, 89, lifelong West Point resident, died April 25, 2002. 
Funeral services were April 29, 2002, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Point was in charge of arrangements. 

Floyd EMERY
A memorial service for Floyd Emery, 77, West Point, were held April 30, 2002. 
Burial will be at a later date in the Burr Oak Cemetery at Burr Oak, Iowa.

Walter McAulliffe, 73, Schuyler died April 28, 2002, at his home in Schuyler.

charge of arrangements. 

Edwin NELLOR
Edwin C. Nellor, 51, died April 23, 2002 in Omaha. A memorial service 
was held April 27, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Omaha. 

Victor FEYERHERM
Victor Feyerherm, 88, Yakima, Wash., died April 7, 2002. Graveside services 
were April 10, 2002, in West Hills Memorial Park. Survivors include a daughter, 
Vickie and Doug Hoggan; two grandsons and one great grandchild, all of 
Australia; a sister Loraine Toebben of Nickerson and a brother Arlin and 
Junavae of Lenexa, Kan. 

James HYNEK
James Jon Hynek, 35, died April 28, 2002, at Omaha. Services were 
May 1, 2002, at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha.

Robert HANSEN
Funeral services for Robert (Bob) Hansen, 65, West Point, were May 1, 2002
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. Cremation following the service. 
Burial will be at a later date. He died April 27, 2002, at his home. Kuzelka-Minnick

Anna BRANDT
Anna L. Brandt, 87, West Point, died April 30, 2002. Memorial services 
May 4, 2002, at Grace Lutheran Church, West Point. Anna is the mother 
of Norma Wortman of West Point and Joyce Medals of Beatrice.

Lester M. SCHNIER, 81, Pender, died May 11, 2002, at his residence in Pender. 
Funeral services were May 14, 2002, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender.

of arrangements.

Alois W. STRATMAN, 82, longtime Loveland resident, died April 29, 2002 in 
Longmont, Colo. Memorial services were May 3, 2002, at Allnutt Funeral 
Service Hunter Chapel. Interment was at Lakeside Burial Park.

Ernie F. BRODECKY, 43, rural Clarkson, died May 7, 2002, at his home. 
Mass of Christian burial was held May 10, 2002, at St. Peter and Paul’s 
Catholic Church in Howells. Burial at the Holy Trinity Cemetery. Kracl 
Funeral Chapel in Schuyler was in charge of arrangements.

Wilma A. SCHULZ, 85, Fremont, died May 10, 2002. A funeral service 
was held May 13, 2002, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. 
Burial was in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont. Ludvigsen Mortuary, 
Fremont, was in charge of arrangements. 
 
Gladys L. MEAD, 86, Snyder, died May 13, 2002, Fremont. 
A funeral service was May 15, 2002, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. 
Burial was at the Snyder Cemetery. Arrangements were by Humlicek 
Funeral Home, Dodge. 

Dewey W. CARLE, Sergeant Major, US Army (retired), 76, died 
July 16, 2001, at his home in Hammond, La., after a lengthy illness. 
His ashes will be laid to rest at a graveside service on May 21, 2002,
at the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton.

Funeral services for Vergil LIERMANN, 73, Beemer were May 13, 2002
at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer. Burial was in Holy Cross 
Cemetery in Beemer with military rites by the Beemer American Legion 
Post #159 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4912 of West Point. 
Vergil died May 9, 2002 in Papillion. Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Homes,

Eleanor VOGEL
Eleanor W. Schmuecker Vogel, 87, Omaha, formerly of West Point, died 
May 17, 2002. A funeral mass was held May 21, 2002, at St. Anthony’s 
Catholic Church at St. Charles. Burial in the church cemetery. 

Ruth ENSTROM
A memorial services will be held for Ruth Enstrom, 88, on May 25, 2002
at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland. Ruth died May 19, 2002
in Omaha.

Gustav A. (Gus) KELL, 90, West Point, died May 29, 2002.

Clara CANARSKY
Clara Louise Canarsky, 82, Lakewood, Colo., died May 13, 2002 
after a prolonged illness. A private graveside service for the cremated 
remains of Clara and her sister Bertha, will be held at the Bancroft 
Cemetery in Bancroft. Survivors include two brothers, Henry and Walter 
and their wives Dorchen and Noel of rural Rosalie; a sister Rosa Nicolle 
of Baton Rouge, LA.; five nieces and seven nephews.

Lena BOLTZ
Funeral services for Lena (Mrs. Leo) Boltz, 93, West Point, were 
June 10, 2002, at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft. Burial in the 
Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Lena died June 6, 2002. Kuzelka-Minnick 
Funeral Homes in West Point was in charge of arrangements.

Madeline KERKOW of Lincoln died June 16, 2002. Madeline bequeathed 
her body for the advancement of medical science. It was her expressed 
wish that no public services be held. Private family services will be held

Lester H. NOLTE, 78, West Point, died June 14, 2002. Graveside services 
were June 17, 2002, at Mount Hope Cemetery at West Point.  Stalp Funeral

Margaret FENSKE, 96, West Point died June 25, 2002. Services were 
June 27, 2002, at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. Burial at Mount 
Hope Cemetery, West Point. Survivors include a niece Genevieve Strehle 
of West Point and a nephew Harold Cyrier of Bullhead City, Ariz.; great 
nieces and great nephews. Stalp Funeral Home, West Point, is in
