CEDAR RAPIDS - Theodore J. "Ted" ARMATYS, 81, of rural Cedar Rapids, died 
of cancer on Jan. 27, 2003, at his home. Services are pending with 
Levander Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. 

KEARNEY - William C. "Bill" BELL, 82, of Kearney, died Jan. 25, 2003, in 
Kearney. Services were at the Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary. Masonic 
rites were held at the funeral home conducted by members of the Rob 
Morris Masonic Lodge 46 A.F. & A.M. Burial was at the Kearney Cemetery 
with military rites at the grave by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 759, 
The American Legion Post 52 and the Kearney National Guard unit. 
Born July 9, 1920, in Dustin, Okla., to Joseph S. and Nora L. (Floyd) Bell. 
He married June L. Brandt on June 26, 1971, in Kearney. Preceded in death 
by his wife on July 9, 1995; one brother and five sisters. 

FREMONT - Eugene P. "Bud" DEPUE, 66, of Fremont, died Jan. 24, 2003
in Omaha. Services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 
Fremont. Born Oct. 8, 1936, to Ernie and Carrie Depue in Fremont. Married 
Phyllis Campbell in 1958 in Fremont. Preceded in death by his parents, Ernie 
and Carrie Depue; one daughter, Kellie Steffens; one sister, Ethel Seward; 
one stepsister, Ellen Reynolds; and one stepbrother, Gilbert Green. 

WALKER, Minn. - Ethel N. (Pearson) ERICKSEN, 93, of Columbus, died Jan. 7, 2003
from complications related to Parkinson's disease. A memorial service was held at 
The Federated Church in Columbus. Private graveside services will be held at the 
Loup Fork (Dry Creek) Cemetery in Howard County. Born on April 23, 1909, to John 
Albert Leroy and Mildred Catherine Davies Pearson in rural Page County, Iowa. 
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1976; her brothers, Albert 
Pearson, Harry Pearson and Edward Pearson; and her sister, Maxine. 

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - Robert H. BRUNER, 70, of Mountain Home, Ark., died 
Jan. 16, 2003, at his home. Memorial service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 
Columbus. Born May 8, 1932, in Chicago to Rasco and Myrtle (Burt) Bruner. 
Married Elizabeth A. Saathoff on June 2, 1957, in Rising City. Preceded in 
death by his parents and two brothers, Burt Bruner and Raymond Bruner. 

LINCOLN - Pearl R. (Hilmer-Waldman) CATLETT, 70, of Lincoln, died Jan. 25, 2003
after battling lung cancer. Services at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Lincoln. 
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Columbus Memorial Cemetery. 
Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Thiebe (Oltmann) Hilmer; two 
brothers, Ed Hilmer and Harvey Hilmer; one sister, Sadie Curtis and her first 
husband Raymond Waldman. 

GENOA - William "Bill" HOLMSTEDT, 72, of Genoa, died Jan. 23, 2003, in Omaha. 
Services at Augustanta Lutheran Church in Genoa. Burial will be at a later date. 
Born Nov. 17, 1930, in Genoa to Mauritz and Ruth (Whitaker) Holmstedt. Married 
Norene Smith on Feb. 19, 1958, at Central City. Preceded in death by one brother, 
Frank Holmstedt; and one grandson. 

COLUMBUS - Edwin H. LAUNER, 85, of Columbus, died Jan. 26, 2003. 
Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus. 

COLUMBUS - Michael NOONAN, 66, of Columbus, died Feb. 3, 2003, at 
his home in Columbus. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure 
Catholic Church in Columbus. Burial at Sts. Patrick/Joseph Cemetery at 
Platte Center with Military Honors by The American Legion Honor Guard, 
Hartman Post #84. McKown Funeral Home in Columbus in charge.

MINNETONKA, Minn. - Katharine Viola Keiber OTTSEN, 90, of 
Minnetonka, Minn., formerly of Columbus, died Jan. 29, 2003, after a 
brief illness. Born July 26, 1912, in Davenport, Iowa. She married G. Maurice 
Ottsen in 1937, after working as a librarian. Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home 
in Edina, Minn., was in charge of arrangements.
