Sioux City Journal Aug 2006 James R. O'CONNOR, 73, of Wakefield, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Aug. 7, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital. Arrangements are pending with Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel. Frank Floyd JONES, 82, of Sioux City passed away Aug. 6, 2006, at his residence. As per his request, the body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites. Born Feb. 26, 1924, to David and Esther (Campbell) Jones, in Santee, Neb. He grew up and attended school in Santee. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943, during World War II. On Feb. 12, 1946, he married Gladys Alvarez at Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys; two sons, Richard Jones and his special friend, Theresa Leander, of Sioux City and Louis Jones and his wife, Debbie, of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a brother. CROFTON, Neb. -- Conrad J. KAUP, 90, of Yankton, S.D., formerly of Crofton, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006 in Yankton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Luella Mildred RICH, 84, of South Sioux City, died, Aug. 3, 2006, at her residence. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at River Hills Church, with her son, the Rev. Tom Rich officiating. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery at Homer, Neb. Luella was born Dec. 31, 1921, in Homer, Neb., the daughter of Millard J. and Violet Marie (Moss) Hiserote. She married Lloyd Rich on Feb. 23, 1938, in South Sioux City. He died July 26, 1978, in Sioux City. HOMER, Neb. -- Oral Wilford FISHER, 85, passed away Aug. 12, 2006, at his home in rural Homer, with his family by his side. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain, S.D. Oral was born March 1, 1921, in Gregory County, S.D., the son of Charles S. "Charlie" and Eva Etta "Babe" (Sinclair) Fisher. He married Leone I. Hoffer on Feb. 26, 1944, at the Lutheran parsonage in Reliance, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, three infant siblings and four grandchildren. DAKOTA CITY -- Francis L. "Swede" HARTNETT, 75, of Dakota City died Aug. 14, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Jackson, Neb. Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. WAKEFIELD, Neb. -- Elaine SALMON, 77, of Wakefield died Aug. 13, 2006. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne, Neb. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. Bressler-Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield. DAKOTA CITY -- Helen F. ZASTROW, 75, of Dakota City died Aug. 15, 2006, at her residence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dakota City United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow the service Monday.
