Sioux City Journal Feb. 18, 2006 LAUREL, Neb. -- Vivian Elder, 95, of the Laurel and Concord, Neb., area died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord. Memorial services will also be held at a later date in Kenton, Tenn. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Kenton. Arrangements in Laurel are under the direction of Schumacher-Hasemann Funeral Home. Feb. 19, 2006 ANTHON, Iowa -- Carrie E. Livermore, 91, of Anthon died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 in Correctionville, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Oto United Church of Christ in Oto, Iowa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon. Carrie E. Livermore was born April 3, 1914, in O'Neil, Neb., the daughter of George and Ida (Beaver) Manson. On Oct. 24, 1934, Walter Livermore and Carrie Manson were united in marriage in Dakota City. She moved to Anthon in 1984. Walter passed away Dec. 27, 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; two brothers, Dale and Keith Manson; and four sisters, Wilma Dicus, Betty Zerfing, Mildred Manson and Doris Schmidt. Feb.23, 2006 Rosa (Hines) Hughes, 92, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in McCook Cemetery, North Sioux City. Rosa was born Jan. 23, 1914, in O'Neill, Neb., the daughter of David and Mattie (Preston) Pittinger. She grew up and attended school in New Castle, Wyo. She moved to Rushville, Neb., in 1926. She married Albert Hines on Jan. 30, 1935, in Rushville. Albert died June 23, 1969. She moved to the Riverside area in 1970. She married Velmer Hughes in March 3, 1979. Velmer died in 1983. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Albert Hines and Velmer Hughes; two sons, Harvey Dale Hines and Donald Hines; two daughters, Shirley Hines and Margaret Hughes; three stepsons; two brothers; two sisters; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter. Michael Allen "Mike" Hanson, 53, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morningside Church of Christ. Following the service Friday, the body will be cremated. Mike was born July 2, 1952 in Plainview, Neb., the son of Robert F. and Susan M. (Hoberg) Hanson. He entered the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Chang Shik Choi in 1974. Together, they had a son, Adam Michael Hanson. He later married Carol Steinhauer Waldman on May 22, 1988. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. MACY, Neb. -- Sandra L. (Parker) Wolfe, 63, of Macy died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alfred Gilpin Building in Macy. Burial will be in Omaha Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Neb. Sandra was born Aug. 28, 1942, in Winnebago, Neb., the daughter of the late James Parker and Ramona Turner. She was a member of the Omaha tribe of Macy and the Turtle Clan. She attended Marty High School and graduated from Haskel Junior College. She married Clifford Wolfe Jr. in May 1973. She was preceded in death by her father, James Parker; her mother, Ramona Turner Greany; a brother, Quannah Parker; sisters, Sherry Parker and Jean Ann Vaitai; and two granddaughters, Saundra Ison and Sharon Phillips. LYONS, Neb. -- Mabel Preston Smith, 97, of Lyons died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, in Lyons. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at New Life Assembly of God Church in Lyons. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa.
