Tri-City Tribune Jan. 27, 2006 Former Gothenburg resident: Clarence Brown, age 75 (1931-2006) Clarence Brown, 75, of Sun City, Arizona, formally of Gothenburg, Nebraska, passed away January 16, 2006. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Rhea; children, Connie Hill, Debbie (Kent) Fingerhut, Lori (Rodney) Sabin, Kim (Todd) Neel, Randy (Cheryl) Brown, Melissa (Jason) Maurer, and Kandi (Dave) Madden; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held in Arizona, and graveside services will be held at a later date at the Cozad City Cemetery, Cozad, Nebraska. Virginia June Hilton, 73 (1932-2006) Virginia June Hilton, 73, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died January 17, 2006 in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born on June 4, 1932, in Gothenburg. On August 9, 1953, she married Leonard V. Hilton at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patty Jo; one son, Doug; and one brother, Norbert Buesing. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 20, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Gothenburg Cemetery. Agnes Ferron, age 112 (1893-2006) Agnes Ferron, 112, passed away on January 18, 2006, at Southview Manor in Cozad, Nebraska. She was born on November 13, 1893, near Spring Hill, Kansas, to Henry and Phoebe Groves. She graduated Normal School and later obtained her nursing certificate in Kansas City, Missouri. She married John Callahan in 1914 and the marriage produced seven children, five girls and two boys. Survivors include one son, Jere (LaDell) Callahan of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, and five daughters. U.S. Army veteran: James E. Rasmussen, 74 (1931-2006) James Rasmussen, 74 of Cozad, Nebraska, died January 18, 2006 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born March 24, 1931, at Battle Creek, Iowa, to Laurits and Verette Hargens Rasmussen. He graduated from Ida Grove High School in Iowa. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. On July 20, 1958, he married Janet Rae Dunne. In 1998, he moved to Cozad and on September 3, 1999, he married Doris Erickson Kraft. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Larry; and a sister, Jane. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2006, at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad. Burial was in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with military honors. Rites at Cozad: Lindsey Rose Bennett Lindsey Rose Bennett, daughter of Elijah and Kristen Morse Bennett was stillborn on January 19, 2006, at the Cozad Community Hospital. Family members include her parents of Cozad, Nebraska; grandparents, Bernard and Carmen Morse of Cozad, Alan and Pam Bennett of Cozad and Kim Bennett of Cozad; great-grandparents, LaVonne Weber of Cozad, Mary Morse of Cozad, Jan Streeter of Monticello, Kentucky, and Mona Rae Douty of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and several aunts and uncles. Family services were held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery. Clarence W. Yeutter, 93 (1912-2006) Clarence Wesley Yeutter, 93, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 in Cozad, Nebraska. He was born February 2, 1912, to Charles Christian and Emma Fredericka (Hueftle) Yeutter in the family farmhouse at Eustis, Nebraska, where he lived until moving to Lexington at the age of 65. He attended country school District 70, and Eustis High School and graduated from high school at the age of 16. On January 12, 1945, Clarence married Dorthea Jessen of Lexington. The couple was blessed with four daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings, Fred, Gus, Lydia (Hurt), Edwin, Wesley, Esther (Werner), Ruth (Sidener), and Yuletta; and son-in-law, Esa Maloley. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Berean Bible Church in Lexington. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Lexington. Barbara M. MacLean, 75 (1930-2006) Barbara M. MacLean, 75, of Wymore, Nebraska, died unexpectedly Saturday morning January 21, 2006. She was born December 22, 1930, on a farm near Cozad, Nebraska, where she spent most of her childhood before moving to Lexington, Nebraska, when she was in the tenth grade and was a 1948 graduate of Lexington High School. She married Charles MacLean on June 6, 1954, at Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Uffe and Beuhla (Boggs) Jensen; by a brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Viola Jensen; by a brother, Bruce Jensen; and by a brother-in-law, Kenneth Shanks. Funeral service were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at the Wymore United Methodist Church.
