Tri-City Tribune July 2006 Verna Louise BIEHL, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, died June 30, 2006 in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born July 27, 1916, at Lexington to Oscar Wade and Florence (Kelley) Lux. On Sept. 1, 1933, Verna was united in marriage to Milton Biehl at Lexington. Milton preceded Verna in death on February 12, 1980. Five children were blessed to this union Sharlene, Larry and Dean and infant twins, Roger and Arthur, who died as infants. She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband and twin sons; by her parents; one sister, Mary Elizabeth; and five brothers, Owen, Verne, Harry, Oscar and Virgil. Services will be held July 7, 2006, at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. Burial will be in the Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Cemetery northwest of Lexington. Jay ICE, Jr. age 59, died July 2, 2006, at his home in Cozad, Nebraska. Born Jan. 10, 1947, at Auburn, Indiana, to Jay, Sr. and Grace Fisher Ice. Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald; and a sister, Patty. Services will be held at 11 a.m., July 7, 2006, at the Cozad Christian Church. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery north of Cozad. Berryman Funeral Home of Cozad is in charge of arrangements Cleo WILKINS, 85, died July 6, 2006, at her home in Cozad, Nebraska as a result of lung cancer. She was born July 1, 1921, near Blair, Nebraska to Alfred and Rena Peterson Paulsen. She graduated from Blair High School in 1938. On July 12, 1941, she married Norman W. Wilkins, Sr. at Rockport, Missouri. Preceded in death by her husband in 2002; a son, Norman W. "Bill" Wilkins, Jr.; a great-grandson, Tyler Jacob Hoppner; and three brothers, Ivan "Ike", Gene and Lyle Paulsen. Services were held at 11 a.m., July 10, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Cozad. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery. August R. "Augie" KOLB, 90, of Lexington, Nebraska, died July 9, 2006. Born Oct. 10, 1915, at Pigeon, Michigan, to Peter and Margaret (Kruse) Kolb. On Sept. 4, 1934, August was united in marriage to Lillie Rohnert at Lexington. To this union two sons were born, Russell Bruce and Ricky Lee. Preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; four sisters; one daughter-in-law, Emily Kolb; and one great-grandson, Ryan Zastrow. Services were held July 12, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Janie Clark SHELL, a former Cozad resident, died in Greeley, Colorado, July 26, 2006. Her husband, John, was a former pastor at the First Presbyterian Church, Cozad. Born on August 9, 1917, at Chunju, Korea. She married John on May 14, 1940, at Cincinnati, Ohio. John died on September 24, 2005. Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel in Greeley at 10 a.m. July 31, 2006. Burial was in the Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley. Survivors include a son, William (Gloria) Shell of Greeley; and daughters, Jeannie Harms of Altoona, Wisconsin, and Christine Saunders, Unity, Maine. Kenneth Herman George BRAUER, 82, of Eustis, Nebraska, died July 26, 2006, at his home in Eustis. Born on October 29, 1923, at Sidney, Nebraska, to Carl and Hanna Marie (Brandt) Brauer. On May 29, 1949, he married Janice L. Greenlee at the United Methodist Church in Lexington, Nebraska. Preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Mark; and brothers, Leonard, Rev. Clarence and Gilbert Brauer. A memorial service will be held Aug 5, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eustis. Private family inurnment will be held at Eustis East Cemetery. Dorothy M. COLVIN, 88, of Lexington, Nebraska, formerly of Miller, SD, died July 29, 2006, at Cozad, Nebraska. Born May 4, 1918, near Kempton, Illinois, to John and Tillie (Kimmel) Bruner, the 10th of 11 children. Dorothy and C. Harold Colvin were married October 8, 1942, at Abilene, Texas, where Harold was stationed with the Medical Department at Camp Barkley, Texas. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 1973; her granddaughter, Jennifer Cotton in 1999; six brothers, Charles, Harry, Jim, Fred, Henry and Donald; and three sisters, Lillie (infancy), Eva and Mary. Services were held Aug 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Memorial services will be held Aug 3, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Miller, SD. A private committal service will be at the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miller prior to the Memorial Service. Genevieve KOSTMAN, 76 of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away on July 30, 2006 in Kearney, Nebraska. Born on August 24, 1929, to Ed and Emma (Giese) Walter at Athol, Kansas. She attended school at Athol, Kansas. On June 15, 1946, she was married to Virgil Kostman. Preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and one brother H. Gene Walter. Survivors include her two sons, Larry and Darrel Kostman, both of Cozad; a sister, Neola Hill of Ord; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Aug 4, 2006, at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel.
