He was born May 26, 1914, at Auburn, Nebraska to Paul and Edna (Rohrs) Eltiste. On February 5, 1941, he was united in marriage to Alma Kaiser at Phillipsburg, Kansas. Three sons were born to this union, Howard, John and Vernon. Vernon died at childbirth. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma in 1993; son, Vernon; three brothers, Gordon, Leonard and Dale; and one sister, Mary. Funeral services were held June 1, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial was in the Sumner Cemetery at Sumner, Nebraska. Betty KENTON, 77, of Lexington, Nebraska, formerly of Gothenburg died May 30, 2006. Born on August 23, 1928, to Charles and Edna Tietsort Burns at Walthill, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kimberly Kenton; and a sister, Shirley Dowd. Funeral services were held on June 1, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Blase Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Viter officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sargent, Nebraska. Mark Kenneth BROCK, 52, of Lexington, Nebraska, died June 1, 2006 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Aug. 2, 1953, to Ray A. and Marlene M. (Shattuck) Brock. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray A., Sr.; brothers, Ray A. Jr. and Terry G.; and his wife, Bonnie J. Services were held Monday, June 5, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Burial with Military Honors was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Anna PETERSON, 94, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died June 2, 2006. Born on Mar. 15, 1912, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Cobus and Emma Fickenscher Stevens. Anna married Alton Peterson on April 2, 1930, at Cozad. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton; two sisters, Ella Loibl and Ruth Franzen. Funeral services were held on June 6, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Gothenburg. Burial was in the Gothenburg Cemetery. Catherine (Cathy) CLIFTON, 63, of Lexington, Nebraska, died June 2, 2006, the result of a vehicle accident. Born May 3, 1943, in Iowa, to Deral and Darlene (Bordwell) Butrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Troy Allen and Larry Dean; and one grandson, Daniel Clifton Abila. Funeral services were held June 6, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Darla DUNN, 57 of Kearney, Nebraska, died June 4, 2006. She was born Aug. 22, 1948, at Cozad, Nebraska, to William and Doris Peden Armagost. On Aug. 29, 1969, she married Charles Dunn. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Dennis; a sister, Pam; and step-father, Jim Vogt. Services will be held at 11 a.m. June 8, 2006, at the Berean Fundamental Church in Cozad. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery. C. Stanley WELLS, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska died June 5, 2006, at Idaho Falls. Born Oct. 9, 1922, at Lexington to Vernon J. and Florence V. (Delap) Wells. He was united in marriage to Virginia L. Walbridge on Nov. 8, 1942, at Norton, Kansas. He then served his country during WWII in the United States Army. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia in 2001; and daughter-in-law, Jean Wells in 2004. Funeral services will be held June 10, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington.
