Ashland Gazette Mar, 2006 LINCOLN - Melvin Denny Hoggatt, 70, of Lincoln, died March 8, 2006, at his home. Born in Hastings on Nov. 1, 1935 to Charles A. and Lola (Campbell) Hoggatt. He met his wife in Omaha and they were married May 1, 1954 at the Church of the Nazarene. He is preceded in death by wife Orletha; daughter Christine Dennis; parents; granddaughter Stephanie Hoggatt and sister Ruth Squires. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 14, at the Glad Tidings Church. Interment followed at the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Greenwood. PHOENIX, Ariz. - Clifford H. Grauerholz, 85, of Phoenix, Ariz., died March 6, 2006. Born in Memphis on Sept. 14, 1920, to Henry John Grauerholz and Erna Augusta Dora Timm. He grew up on a farm near Ashland and graduated from Ashland High School in 1939. He joined the Army Air Corp & served in World War II. He married Jean Louise Lehmkuhl on Feb. 20, 1946, in Minden. He is survived by his wife Jean of Phoenix, Ariz.; son Charles and his wife Joan of San Diego, Calif.; daughter Susan and companion Bruce Johnson of Phoenix; three grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters; brother Ellis Grauerholz and wife Lois of Ashland and sister Ruth Baker and husband Frances of Ricketts, Iowa. A memorial service was held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, Ariz., on Saturday, March 11. Interment will be at a later date. VALPARAISO - Janet Rezac, 67, of rural Valparaiso, died in her home on Monday, March 6, 2006. Rezac grew up in the Louisville-Weeping Water area. She married Valerian W. Rezac on May 2, 1959. She is preceded in death by father Stanley Schroeder and brother Larry Schroeder. BLAIR - Robert E. Blobaum Sr., 77, of Blair, died Monday, March 6, 2006, in his home. He was born on the family farm near Fairbury on July 31, 1928. He graduated from Fairbury Junior College in 1948 and the University of Nebraska in 1950. He married Lois Prange on Sept. 10, 1950. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Anna Blobaum; brothers Alfred, Werner and Victor and sisters Marie Shultz, Alma Hummel and Martha Powers. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 11 at the First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. ASHLAND - Harry G. Schuster, 77, of Ashland, died March 4, 2006 in Wahoo. Harry G. Schuster was on Nov. 21, 1928, to John E. and Margaret (Coleman) Schuster in Omaha.He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Sean Wuthrich and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 8, at the Marcy Mortuary Chapel in Ashland. Interment followed at the Ashland Cemetery. PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. -Elmer Buck Jr. died on Monday, Feb. 20, 2006. He was born May 19, 1920, in Greenwood, the son of Elmer and Ethel (Marshall) Buck. He joined the Army in 1940 as a paratrooper in the 503rd Infantry Regiment. He and Naomi Hoogerwerf were married on Sept. 21, 1946, in Prophetstown. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Luetta Buck; three brothers, Donald, Harold and Ernest; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Buck.
