Custer Co. Chief March 2, 2006 John W. WILSON died Tuesday morning. Feb. 21, 2006 in Riverton, Wyo. Born at the family home in Custer County, Neb., June 10, 1940. Son of William and Delma (Harrold) Wilson. Served in U. S. Air Force. On Feb. 25, 1962, he married Deanna Marie Clay at the Methodist Church in Broken Bow. Preceding him in death were his father, William; brother, Norman Wilson; father-and mother-in-inlaw Gail and Stella Clay. Funeral Services were at the United Methodist Church of Riverton. Vava A. ARNOLD was born June 12, 1907, the third of 10 children, to Charles and Delia (Fahey) Condron in Loup County. Married to Clyde A. Arnold of Broken Bow in Kearney Nov. 18, 1927. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, nine brothers and sisters and two grandchildren. Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church in Broken Bow. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Phillip L. SHEPHERD, 66, of North Loup died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006 in Grand Island. Phil was born Sept 24, 1939, at Sargent to John and Goldie (Hulbert) Shepherd. Entered the Unted States Army in 1958, and was honorably discharge in 1961. On Oct. 14, 1989, Phil married Monna (craft) Brennick.) He was preceded in death by his wife, Monna, his father, John and step-mother, Rosie Shepherd. Funeral services were at the Ord Memorial Chapel. A private family burial was held at the Hillside Cemetery at North Loup. Military Rites were conducted by the Ralph R. Rich Post #285 American Legion of North Loup. James Joseph (Jim) McMILLAN died in his home Feb. 19, 2006. Jim was the fourth child born to Thomas W. and Frances Black Dec. 10, 1933, in Broken Bow. Jim entered the Army in 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Douglas B., sister Mary Anne, and brothers-in-law Bob Anderson, Dean Fenwick, and Don Cook. Graveside services will be in the New Helena Cemetery. Burial will be in the New Helena Cemetery. Francis W. "Franny" ANDERSON, 77, of Grand Island, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006. Fran was born Sept. 15, 1928, to Earl and Eva (Sheen) Anderson Boyles. Fran entered the United States Army Sept 4. 1952, serving during the Korean War in the Army Corps of Engineers. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Harry Boyles of Mason City, brother-in-law Richard Boyles, nephews Dale and Danny Boyles and step-sister Bertie (Leo) Holley. Services were at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Burial was in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell. Shannon R. HOWARD, 58, of Sargent died Sat. Feb. 25, 2006. Shannon was born Aug. 7, 1947, in Custer County to Lester and Virginia (Hill) Chrisman. On Dec. 7, 1966, Shannon married Jerry Howard in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Shannon was preceded in death by her parents and three infant siblings. Services were at the Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. Burial was in the Madison Square Cemetery west of Taylor. Norma Joan McCLEARY was born July 23, 1930, to Edmund K. and Mamie (Hickenbottom) Lichtenberger at Callaway. Married on Jan. 20, 1952, to Donald McCleary in Callaway. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Darlene and Lucille. Funeral services were at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Burial was in the Rosehill Cemetery at Callaway. Ernestine Francis "Johnnie" MANN, 83, of North Platte died Feb. 25, 2006. Johnnie was born May 13, 1922, to Ernest "Skippy" and Ina J. Sabens Elmore in Jameson, MO. She was married to "Red" on Oct 20. 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Services were at Adams & Swanson Chapel in North Platte. March 9, 2006 Kenny LINVILLE,68 passed away Feb.28, 2006. Born Dec. 14, 1937 to Jack and Coila Linville of Broken Bow. On Dec. 8, 1963, he married Jackie Roth. A baby daughter Wendy and his father Jack preceded him in death. Memorial services were at the Berean fundamental Church in Broken Bow. Inurnment was at the Broken Bow Cemetery. NormaLee GOBLE, 84 of Sargent, died Feb. 28, 2006 in Broken Bow. Born Aug. 7, 1921, in Burwell to William (Bill) and Lois (Alder) Harvey. On Jan. 24, 1942, NormaLee Harvey and William "Howard" Goble were united in marriage in San Diego. Calif. Services were at the United Methodist Church in Sargent. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Sargent.
