Imperial Republican Nov 2006 Douglas Arthur KUNNEMANN was born Dec. 23, 1958, at Imperial, Neb. to Orville R. and Arleen G. (Bremer) Kunnemann. Marryied Lee Ann McDonald, on Aug. 2, 1980 at Aurora, Colo. Doug passed away Oct. 22, 2006, at his farm home northwest of Imperial. He was 47 years of age. Preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Karen, and a nephew, Jeffrey. Funeral services were held Oct. 26, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial. Interment followed at the Chase Cemetery, rural Imperial, Neb. Donna June GODDARD was born in Imperial, Neb. on June 29, 1927 to Walter and Louva Gibb. She was the youngest of four children. At age 18 she married Burdette (Dick) Goddard, Sept. 24, 1945. She went to be with her Lord, after complications of hip surgery in Kearney, Neb. on Oct. 26, 2006. Survived by are sisters, Ruby Schrack of Idaho, Lois Avis of Madison, S.D. and one sister-in-law, Thelma Gibb of Holdrege. Alan ROLLER, age 59, of Champion, Neb. passed away Oct. 30, 2006 near Palisade, Neb. in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Nov. 3, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, Neb. Liewer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bernice HAGGARD, age 92, of Ogallala, died Oct. 30, 2006. Born July 4, 1914 in Doniphan, Neb. to Frederick and Mabel Miller Rainforth. On May 20, 1937 Bernice was united in marriage to Wendell Haggard. Preceding her in death was her husband, Wendell, in 1999 and grandson, Scott Haggard, in 2005. Graveside Committal Service will be Nov. 2, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ogallala Cemetery. Erwin FRERICHS, 86, of rural Grant died Nov. 5, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grant Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Maxine BENTZ, age 67, of Vienna, Ill. and formerly of Imperial, Neb., died Nov. 4, 2006 at the Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Ill. Born May 19, 1939 in Sutherland, Neb., to Basil and Vera Keenan Bentz. Maxine married Jackie Holtzman in 1958 and to this union three children were born. They later divorced. In 1970 Maxine married Stephen M. Houle and the couple moved to Aurora, Colo. Memorial services will be on Nov. 10, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home in Ogallala. Cremation was chosen. Inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. John LANDEN, age 84, passed away Nov. 12, 2006. Survivors include: daughter, Dianne Cooper and husband, Earl, Imperial; son, David Landen and wife, Jane, of Mebane, N.C.; 1 grandchild; sisters, Jennie Spitler, Columbus, Neb., Ruth Frerichs, Columbus, Neb., Ruby Dent, Hastings, Neb.; brothers, Andy Landen and wife, Faye, Mitchell, Neb., Lloyd Landen and wife, Jo, Parker, Colo. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Liewer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Peggy Jean HAMPTON, died Nov. 14, 2006 at her home in Mesquite, Texas. She was born April 9, 1939. Memorial services were held Nov. 17 at Eastgate Funeral Home. Katharine Kay LORANCE died Nov. 17, 2006, in Lincoln, Neb. Funeral services were held Nov. 21, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall in Wauneta, Neb. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta. Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Jean Marie TRAVIS was born on April 23, 1918, to Walter and Grace (Fleet) Hayer at Garden City, Iowa. She & Everett Travis married on Sept. 17, 1939, in Lamoni and two years later moved to the original Travis homestead at Champion, Neb., to farm. She passed away Nov. 19, 2006. She was 88 years of age. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett, in Feb. 1986; brother, Roger; son, Max, in 1968; and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Imperial.
