Married Earl Rasmussen on June 19, 1928, in Fremont, Nebraska. They had three sons, Donald, Gary, and Keith. Preceded in death by her four brothers and four sisters; her husband, Earl; and her eldest son, Donald. Funeral services were held on Oct 5, 2006, at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. She was buried next to her husband, Earl, in the Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington. Herbert "Herb" KOCH, 82 of Eustis, Nebraska, died Oct 2, 2006 in Lexington, Nebraska. Born Dec 16, 1923, on the family farm near Eustis to August and Martha VonLoh Koch. On Oct 23, 1952 he married Rosemary Siekjost. Preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Schultz; three brothers, his twin, Harold, Walter and Elmer; and two brothers-in-law, Amos Jurjens and Walter Schultz. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Oct 10, 2006, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis. A private inurnment will be in pasturelands near his birthplace, south of Eustis. Bernice Irene WILDE, 92, of Elwood, Nebraska, died Oct 4, 2006. Born on Aug 3, 1914, to Oscar and Lydia Aletta (Oglevie) Beenblossom at Superior, Nebraska. Married Warren Hammond in 1930. Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Verla Brown and Billie Williamson; son, Lee Hammond; and great-grandson, Steven Tauber. Memorial services were held Octr 7, at 2:30 p.m. at Elwood Funeral Home at Elwood. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Doris G. GILSTER, 80, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away Oct 4, 2006 in Cozad, Nebraska. Born Aug 2, 1926, to Alvie and Hazel Humphrey Sanders in Sutherland, Nebraska. Marriage to Gordon D. "Hop" Gilster in Sutherland. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne (June) Sanders. Memorial services were held Oct 7, 2006, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Dorothy STIENIKE, 95 of Cozad, Nebraska, died Oct 4, 2006 in Lexington, Nebraska. Born Mar 4, 1911, north of Eustis, Nebraska, to Frederick and Louise Hofer Schmeeckle. On Feb 24, 1940, she married Virgil Stienike at Eustis. Preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Harold; a son-in-law, Bob Maurer; and a sister-in-law, Marie Schmeeckle. Services were held Oct 7, 2006, at the American Lutheran Church in Cozad. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery. Fay M. MALOLEY, 74, of Lexington, Nebraska, died suddenly Oct 5, 2006. He was born Mar 21, 1932, in Lexington, to Assad Fred and Julia (Sadd) Maloley. He entered the U. S. Army in Oct of 1952. He served in Korea. Married Kay Slater, on April 13, 1957, at Grand Island, Nebraska. Seven children were blessed to this union. Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Donald; and brothers, Esa and Anthony. Services were held Oct 9, 2006,at First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Burial with Military Honors was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Kenneth L. SCHOLZ, 60, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Oct 8, 2006. Born on Nov 4, 1945, at Stuart, Nebraska, the son of Florian and Theresa (Weichman) Scholz. Preceded in death by his parents; a step-mother, Velma; a niece, Lisa Brelsford; and son, Jared Thomas. A memorial service will be held at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart, Nebraska, at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2006. Kenneth Wayne THOMSEN, 58, of North Platte, Nebraska, died Oct 8, 2006, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Born May 13, 1948, in Sutherland, Nebraska, to Vernon and Ethel McNickle Thomsen. He married Kathy Mason June 14, 1970, in North Platte. He attended Chadron State College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1974. Preceded in death by his mother; a brother, Dennis; a sister, Patricia Brown and an infant sister, Joan Thomsen; two in-laws, Bill and Eileen Mason. Services were held at 11 a.m. Oct 14, 2006, at the Episcopal Church in North Platte. Burial was in North Platte City Cemetery. Dolores M. MCFARLAND, 84, of Lexington, Nebraska, formerly of Eddyville, Nebraska, died Oct 11, 2006. Born Mar 21, 1922, near Eddyville to Ivan "Jack" and Eva (Hanks) Line. Graduated from Eddyville High School with the Class of 1938. Marriage to Dale McFarland on Oct 7, 1941. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dale, in 1988. Funeral services were held Oct 16, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eddyville. Burial was in the Jewell Cemetery near Sumner, Nebraska. Kenneth MORITZ, 79 of Cozad, Nebraska, died Oct 12, 2006. He was born May 12, 1927, at Eustis, Nebraska, to John and Lucy Puls Moritz and attended school at Eustis. In 1948, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving a 21 year military career. In December 1953, he married Doris Hall. On Nov 5, 1998, he married Verna Story. Preceded in death by a son, David; a step-son, Jay Story; three brothers, Fredrick, Ralph and Paul; and three sisters, LaVerne Sieh, Susan Oakland and Detta Wiles. Services were held Oct 16, 2006, at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery with military honors. Melvin GARDNER, 50 of Cozad, Nebraska, died Oct 16, 2006 in Kearney, Nebraska. Born Dec 15, 1955, at North Platte, to Roy and Lorena Darling Gardner. He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Tim Malcom; and a great-niece, Tasia Malcom. Graveside services will be held Oct 19, 2006, at the Walnut Grove Cemetery north of Cozad. Dale C. HANEY, 89, of Elwood, Nebraska, died Oct 17, 2006 in Kearney, Nebraska. Born Aug 3, 1917, to Clint and Ellen (Carter) Haney in rural Gosper County. In 1964 he married Dolly Caldor. They later divorced. Survivors include, one sister, Ardus Halker of Lexington, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews; eight step-children; and numerous step-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifford of Lexington, and Homer of Elwood; sisters, Goldie of rural Gosper County, and Mary Strohmyer of Lexington; and a nephew, Don Gruber of Elwood.
