SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Ralph James "Jim" BARRS, 44, of South Sioux City died July 31, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., from a heart condition. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery, rural Homer. Born Aug. 17, 1930, in Sioux City, the son of Fred and Opal (Wilson) Matney Sr. He was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Married Opal Mae Howard on June 21, 1949, in Sioux City. She died Feb. 8, 1986, in Sioux City. He then married Laverne Rogers Pearson in Greensburg, Kan. Preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diane Matney; two brothers, Harold and Duane; and a granddaughter, Kristy Matney. ALLEN, Neb. -- George C.
