Inurnment will be in Creighton Valley Cemetery at Melbeta. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Born Feb. 9, 1928, at Bridgeport to Harley G. and Lillian (Riddle) Tanner. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On Aug. 1, 1948, he married Virginia Gross at Gering. Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Betty Schlosser and Flossie Watson; brother: Harley G. Tanner Jr.; daughter: Lynn Campbell; and parents-in-law: Bob and Rena (Randall) Gross. SCOTTSBLUFF - Christel R. BURBACH, 87, of Scottsbluff, died Feb. 1, 2007 in Gering. Funeral was held Feb. 6 at the Salem Congregational Church Chapel in Scottsbluff. Entombment was in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Scottsbluff. Born Sept. 25, 1919 at Ortelsburg, East Prussia, Germany, the daughter of Otto and Erna (Spaltner) Zdunek. She moved with her parents to Milwaukee, Wis. in 1921. Marriage to Lloyd Burbach, Nov. 29, 1939 at Scottsbluff with her father officiating the wedding service. Preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 25, 1985; and two sisters. SCOTTSBLUFF - Melva Jane ROBERTS, 95, of Scottsbluff, died Feb. 1, 2007. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Anna was born May 10, 1904, in Rosenburg, Russia, the daughter of Alexander and Mary Katherine (Ruppel) Schwartzkopf. COLLINS, Colo. - Russell Lee JODER, 77, of Fort Collins died on Feb. 6, 2007. A funeral service was held Feb. 10 at the Christ Center Community Church, in Fort Collins. Born in Alliance on Oct. 27, 1929. He was in the U. S. Army. Married Beth Shotwell in Gering in 1953. Preceded in death by his parents: Ward and Ruth Joder. SCOTTSBLUFF - C. L. "Clancy" CROFT, 72, of Scottsbluff, formerly of Omaha, died Feb. 5, at his home. A private service was held in Scottsbluff Feb. 9, and a memorial service: Feb. 16, at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha. Born in Chicago, Ill., to Clarence and Helen Croft. Served in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 42 years; sons: Colin, of Harrisburg, Darin, and wife Lisa, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Brian of Hemingford; sister: Billie and husband Dan of Arvada, Colo.; sister-in-law: Judith Grapes of Burlington, Iowa; and nieces and nephews. Born Dec. 3, 1927, in Mitchell to John Milton "Milt" and Laura Leora (Jones) Baughman. She married Harold Keller Aug. 12, 1951, in Mitchell. Born the oldest of eight children to Howard and Evelyn (Erington) Scofield on Mar. 28, 1931, in Garfield County near Burwell, Neb. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Carroll Dean Scofield and Russel Edwin Scofield; sister: Dorothy May Scofield; and granddaughter: Anjannette Joanne Kenyon, who was the apple of her "Oompa's" eye. Sack in 1983; and step-son: Richard Sack. MITCHELL - Maria Del Carmen Solano PLASENCIO, 69, died Feb. 11, 2007. A funeral service was held Feb. 16 at Ebenezer Temple in Scottsbluff. Cremation followed the service at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Born Sept. 19, 1937, at San Antonio, Texas to Marcelino and Esther (Aleman) Solano. Marriage to Febronio M. Plasencio on Feb. 28, 1958, in Harrisburg. To this union were born three children, Febronio S. Jr., Frances, and Abel. Born Jan. 9, 1937 in Scottsbluff to Henry A. and Mollie (Sittner) Hessler. Married Donald LeRoy Driscoll on July 3, 1954 and they made their home in Gering. Born on a farm south of Dawson, Neb., Sept. 19, 1916, to Frank and Cora (Foster) Bernhardt. She had three sisters, Hazel, Alice, and Mary Ann. Married Don Cummins Aug. 31, 1935 at Hiawatha, Kan. Her parents; and a sister: Alice Burgess preceded her in death. GERING - Floyce Arlene CUNNINGHAM, 85 of Gering, died Feb. 21, 2007. Funeral services were Feb. 27 at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Mitchell. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Born on Dec. 16, 1921 in the home of her grandparents in Stanton to Henry and Esther (Chilcoat) Perkins. In 1944 she enlisted in the U. S. Cadet Nurse Corp at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She married Dr. Paul Cunningham Nov. 27, 1946. Preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Maxine Michie; and daughters: Paula and Cathy. GERING - Evelyn Irene SCHUMAN, 100, of Gering died Feb. 23, 2007 in Scottsbluff. Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering took place Feb. 26. Born on Feb. 4, 1907 in Ft. Calhoun to George and Mabel (Hardy) McKercher.
