GRETNA - James J. REESE, 54, of Gretna, formerly of 
Hartford, Conn., died Dec. 28, 2006. Funeral services were 
held Wednesday at Roeder Mortuary in Gretna. Interment 
followed at the Ashland Cemetery in Ashland with military 
rites by the Honor Guard, VFW Post 2503. Roeder 
Mortuary, Inc. Gretna Chapel, was in charge 
of arrangements. 

ASHLAND - Marjorie Ellen (Fidler) DONOVAN, 81, died 
Dec. 24, 2006, in Omaha. Born on May 1, 1925 in 
South Bend to James and Olive (Vanhook) Fidler. 
On July 6, 1946 married Thomas W. Donovan in 
Marysville, Kan. Preceded in death by her husband 
Thomas, parents, three sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service was held Dec. 29 at the Marcy 
Mortuary Chapel. 

ASHLAND - Clela M. WAGNER, 97, died Jan. 4, 2007.
Born on Oct. 29, 1909, in Memphis to Luther and Susie (Rogers) Wagner. 
Her father and sister died in 1969 and her mother died in 1976. 
She is survived by several cousins. Funeral services were held 
Tuesday at the Marcy Chapel. Burial was at Ashland Cemetery.

LINCOLN - LaVay B. SPECH, 81, of Lincoln, died Jan. 6, 2007.
Born on Sept. 14, 1925, in Schuyler to Ted and Blanche Sohl. 
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard J. Spech 
and brother-in-law Kenneth Tadlock. A memorial service will be 
held on Saturday, Jan. 13 at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral 
Home, in Lincoln. There will be no viewing or visitation.

RALSTON - Beulah V. "Jean" PFEIFFER, 72, of Ralston, died 
Jan. 1, 2007, in Papillion. Born April 22, 1934, in Kearney.
Preceded in death by parents Harry W. and Beulah B. 
Gustafson; sister Beverly Leanne Meinecke and 
brother-in-law Jim Meinecke. Services were held Jan. 5 
at the Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West 
Center Chapel, in Omaha. Interment followed at Evergreen 
Cemetery in Omaha.  

ASHLAND - Perry M. COUCH, 87, of Ashland, died Jan. 12, 2007.
Born in Arbela, Mo. to Perry E. and Effy Mae (Richardson) Couch.
WW II Army Veteran and a former auctioneer. Preceded in death 
by parents, three sisters and wife Frances. A graveside memorial 
service: Jan.  18, at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Kenneth O. HAGSTROM, 81, of Ashland passed away Jan. 23, 2007 
at his home. Arrangements are pending at Marcy Mortuary, Ashland. 

ASHLAND - Forrest F. SMITH, 89, of Ashland, died Jan. 18, 2007 
at his home in Ashland. Born May 12, 1917, at Ithaca to Frank 
and Ida (Schneider) Smith. He was a widower twice, losing his 
wife Zola and then Helen. On May 5, 1984, he married Lois Snider 
in York. He was an Ashland resident for most of his life.
Preceded in death by his wives; brother Howard Smith; brother-in-law 
Ralph Treptow; step grandchildren Christa Ocken and Michael Snider.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church in 
Waverly. Interment was at Indian Mound Cemetery in Ithaca.

GRETNA - Shirley E. LYNN, 76, of Gretna, died at her home on Jan. 17, 2007.
Born in Fremont on April 20, 1930, to Henry and Mildred (Matz) Bevelheimer. 
Married Wayne RishelJune 6, 1950. She married Dr. Lee Lynn on Aug. 15, 1969.
Preceded in death by her parents and second husband. Funeral services were 
held Monday at Marcy Chapel in Ashland. Interment followed at Forest Lawn 
Memorial Park in Omaha. Arrangements by Marcy Mortuary, Ashland. 

LINCOLN - Verna L. BLODGETT, 88, of Lincoln, formerly of Ceresco, died 
Jan. 21, 2007. Born Aug. 4, 1918, in Memphis to Lynn and Loma (Gordon) 
Converse. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Ellis.
Services: Jan. 25, 2007 at Ceresco United Methodist Church. 
Burial will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo.
