HUMPHREY - Margaret M. FISCHER, 84, of Humphrey, died Jan. 2, 2007.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church 
in Humphrey. Burial is at St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey. Born 
Feb. 7, 1922, in Platte Center, to William and Adelaide (Jaixen) 
Schumacher. She graduated from Platte Center High School and 
Wayne State College with a degree in teaching. Married George L. Fischer 
on June 26, 1946, at Platte Center. Preceded in death by her parents; 
sisters, Adeline Lisko and Ruth Bender; and brother, Lawrence Schumacher.

PRIMROSE - Nancy Ann PATZEL, 48, of Primrose, died Jan. 1, 2007, in 
Albion, as a result of complications from an apparent blood clot.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Michael's 
Catholic Church in Albion. Burial is at St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery in Primrose. Nancy Ann Patzel, the daughter of Edward 
and Ella (Zaucker) Brandt, was born on Mar. 13, 1958, in Columbus. 
On May 5, 1989, she was united in marriage to Joe Patzel in 
Grand Island. Preceded in death by her father, Edward Brandt; 
and her grandparents.

COLUMBUS - Glenn E. BUSSELMAN, 82, of Columbus, formerly 
of Lindsay, died Dec. 31, 2006. Services will be held at 10 a.m. 
on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. Burial is at 
Holy Family Cemetery in Lindsay. Born July 22, 1924, in Lindsay, 
to George H. and Sarah Ann (Connelly) Busselman. Married Lucille 
T. Dohmen on May 1, 1946, at Holy Family Catholic Church in 
Lindsay. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; and 
grandson, Darby Staub.

OMAHA - Lorraine ZACH, 84, of Omaha, formerly of Humphrey, 
died Dec. 31, 2006, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services were held today at St. Francis Catholic Church in 
Humphrey. Burial was at St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey. 
Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Humphrey, to Barney and Theresa 
(Wemhoff) Brockhaus. Married Joe Lizner on Oct. 27, 1945, 
in Chicago. Married Joe Zach Jr. on Nov. 8, 1955, in Humphrey.
Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joe Lizner, Joe 
Zach Jr.; and brother, Paul Brockhaus.

MILFORD - Elmer W. MOELLER, 94, of Milford, formerly of 
Leigh, died Jan. 3, 2007, in Milford. Services will be held at 
11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in rural 
Columbus. Burial is at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Roselawn 
Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.
 
SCHUYLER - Donald ABRAHAM, 78, of Schuyler, died 
Jan. 2, 2007, in Lincoln. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. 
on Saturday at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler. Burial is at 
the Schuyler Cemetery, with military honors by 
Hespen-Mitchell Post 4836 of the V.F.W and McLeod Post 
No. 47 of the American Legion. Born Sept. 21, 1928, in rural 
Colfax County, to John and Ida (Legler) Abraham .Joined the
U. S. Army in 1951 and served in a MASH unit in Korea until 
his discharge in 1953. Preceded in death by his parents and 
two sisters, LaVerna Ann Abraham and Eleanor Moural. 
 
ALBANY, Ore. - Quentin SCHEFFLER, 86, of Albany, Ore., died 
Jan. 1, 2007. Born in Creston, the son of Ferdinand and Anna 
(Paul) Scheffler. Married Clarice Ann Clouse on Mar. 16, 1941, 
in Ericson. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Preceded in death by daughter, Allegra Ann Scheffler, six 
brothers and two sisters. Memorial services were held 
today at Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington, 
Albany, OR 97321.

PLATTE CENTER - Velma Elsner, 71, of Platte Center, died 
Jan. 6, 2007, at her home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. 
on Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Platte Center. 
Burial is at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.
Born Mar. 24, 1935, in Columbus, to Louis and Sylvia 
(Meyers) Eschliman. On Feb. 18, 1961, Velma married 
Eugene Elsner in Osceola. Preceded in death by her 
parents, Louis and Sylvia Eschliman; and 
brother, Dale Eschliman.
 
ROGERS- Florence M. KRACL, 88, of Rogers, died 
Jan. 7, 2006, at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
Services Jan. 10, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church 
in Schuyler. Burial will be at the Schuyler Cemetery.
Born Nov. 26, 1918, in Colfax County, to Gustave A. 
and Mamie W. (Nieman) Schmidt. On Sept. 29, 1938, 
she married Frank E. Kracl at her father's rural Richland 
home. Preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Jedlicka; 
great-grandson, Tyler Dush; three brothers, Everett, 
Harvey and Louis Schmidt; and son-in-law, Dick Bohac.
 
NEWMAN GROVE - Eldon L. ANDERSON, 56, of Newman 
Grove, died Jan. 6, 2007, in Albion. Services Jan. 10, 2007 at 
St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. Burial is at St. 
John's Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Creek. Born Oct. 27, 1950, 
in Laurel, to Donald Aloise and Dorothy (Bayne) Anderson. 
Married Connie Klug on Oct. 4, 1969, at St. John's Lutheran 
Church in Battle Creek. Preceded in death by his grandparents.  

DAVID CITY - Martha E. PETO, 89, of David City, died Jan. 8, 2006.
Services are pending with Chermok Funeral Home in David City. 

COLUMBUS - Marvin S. JAHN, 85, of Columbus, died Jan. 8, 2007.
Services on Jan. 12, 2007 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in 
Columbus. Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, with military 
honors by American Legion Hartman Post No. 84 Honor Guard.

PETERSBURG - Robert E. SMITH, 72, of Petersburg, died Jan. 8, 2007
in Albion. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. John's 
Catholic Church in Petersburg. Levander Funeral Home of Albion is 
in charge of arrangements. 

FORT SCOTT, Kan. - Julia Rose FINCH, 82, of Fort Scott, Kan., 
died Jan. 8, 2007, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on 
Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Scott. Burial will 
be at the Clarksburg Cemetery near Garland, Kan.

SCHUYLER - Ellen F. MEYER, 78, of Schuyler, died Jan. 9, 2007
in David City. Private family services will be held at a a later date. 
Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler is in charge of arrangements.
Born April 13, 1928, in Schuyler, to Fred and Margaret (McCready) 
Hespen. Married Glen Meyer on Dec. 26, 1983, in Columbus.
Preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy; and five brothers, 
Donald, Leo, Gerald, Floyd and Walter Hespen.
 
GENOA - Daisy EDWARDS, 89, of Genoa, died Jan. 10, 2007.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 15, 2007 at Augustana 
Lutheran Church in Genoa. Graveside services will be held at 
2:30 p.m. on Monday in Ainsworth. Born June 26, 1917, in Star, 
to Henry and Martha (Miller) Jacobs. Married Harold Edwards on 
Dec. 24, 1941, in O'Neill. Preceded in death by her husband, 
Harold in Nov. 1995; two brothers, Ernie and Don Jacobs; 
and two sons-in-law, Kenneth Weander and Carl Schroder Jr. 

SCHUYLER - Esther WILSHUSEN, 91, of Schuyler, died Jan. 10, 2007.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 13, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran 
Church (949 Road 7), rural Schuyler. Burial will be at Schuyler Cemetery.
Born March 13, 1915, in Colfax County, to Otto and Emma (DeBower) Ernst. 
On Mar. 24, 1937, she married Norman J. Wilshusen at Immanuel Lutheran 
Church. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman in 1999; 
and sisters and brothers-in-law, Pearl and LeRoy Saalfeld, Bernice and 
Ralph Cowden, infant sister Elsie and brother-in-law Ralph Wilshusen.

COLUMBUS - Marvin KALLWEIT, 87, of Columbus, died Jan. 11, 2007.

HOBART, Tasmania, Australia - Twila Ann (Janssen) HERR, 60, of 
Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, died Jan. 10, 2007, in Hobart, 
Tasmania, Australia. Services are pending with Gass Haney 
Funeral Home in Columbus. 

SHELBY - Mary Rose (Kubicek) Glatter DOBIAS, age 97, of 
Shelby, Nebraska, died Jan. 11, 2007 in David City. Funeral 
services will be 10:30 a.m. Jan. 16, 2007 at 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. Interment: Shelby 
Sacred Heart Cemetery. B. Mar. 4, 1909, to John and Millie 
(Novak) Kubiceknear Valparaiso, Nebraska. Marriage to Leo H. Glatter 
on May 3, 1939, at St. Andrews Parish northwest of Shelby. 
Leo died in May of 1978. Mary then moved into Shelby. 
On Oct. 28, 1988, marriage to Paul Dobias at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church. Paul passed away Dec. 6, 1991. Preceded in death by her 
husbands, Leo Glatter and Paul Dobias; twin granddaughters, Sarah 
and Casey Glatter; one sister Helen Alt; six brothers, John Kubicek, 
Charlie Kubicek, Emil Kubicek, William Kubicek, Joe Kubicek, Alouis Kubicek. 

ST. EDWARD - Joey Lynn METZ, 18, of St. Edward, formerly of 
Petersburg, died Jan. 12, 2007 as a result of an automobile accident 
near Platte Center. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg. Burial will be in 
the parish cemetery.

GENOA - Ivan Gene WHITLOW, 69, of Genoa passed away Jan. 12, 2007.
Born in Genoa on Sept. 29, 1937, to Amos Ivan and Della (Clark) Whitlow. 
He married Darlene Ditter on June 9, 1957, in Genoa. Preceded in death 
by his parents and infant brother, Robert. Service celebrating Gene's life 
will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Augustana Lutheran Church in 
Genoa. 

LINCOLN - Lillian L. BONNER, 97, of Lincoln, formerly of Columbus, 
died Jan. 14, 2007. Services: Jan. 18, 2007 at Peace Lutheran Church 
in Columbus. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery. B. Nov. 12, 1909, in Leigh, 
to Louis and Anna (Littleman) Loseke. On April 18, 1936, Lillian married 
Ervin Bonner in Leigh. Preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Anna 
Loseke; husband, Ervin Bonner; brother, Hugo Loseke; sisters, Louise 
Ahrens, Emma Stott, Olga Jenny, Elsie Chamberlain and Hulda Olson.

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. - John B. McDONALD, 87, of 
Twentynine Palms, Calif., died Jan. 10, 2007. Graveside services 
will be held Friday at the David City Cemetery. Chermok Funeral 
Home in David City in charge. 

COLUMBUS - Coby G. LOZOS, 56, of Columbus, died Jan. 14, 2007
at his home. Services will be held Jan. 18, 2007 at McKown Funeral 
Home. Interment is at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. B. May 8, 1950 in 
Pender, to George and Betty (Glissman) Lozos. Preceded in death by 
his grandparents. 

COLUMBUS - Alice Adela SANDER, 70, of Columbus, died Jan. 13, 2007.
The funeral service Jan. 17, 2007. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell 
Creek. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. B. June 25, 1936, in 
Platte Co., to August Sr. and Adela (Siefken) Runge. Married Dennis 
Sander on June 16, 1957, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek. 
Preceded in death by her parents, August Sr. and Adela Runge; 
brother, Arlo Runge; and sister-in-law, Terrie Runge.

COLUMBUS - Elaine HEY, 75, of Columbus, died Jan. 17, 2007 in Omaha.

Church in Columbus. Burial is in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. 
Born Mar. 25, 1931, in Tarnov to Frank and Rose (Paprocki) Keller. 
Married Don Hey on Aug. 27, 1956, at St. Bonaventure Church in 
Columbus. Preceded by father, Frank Keller; mother, Rose (Paprocki) 
Keller; and sister, Maureen Justice.

BELLWOOD - Glenn I. FORRE, 87, of Bellwood, died Jan. 17, 2007.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2007 at Bellwood 
United Methodist Church. Burial is at the Bellwood Cemetery, with 
military honors.

COLUMBUS - Preston Joseph BRIDGER, 7-month-old son of Kevin 
and Heather (Moore) Bridger of Columbus, passed away Jan. 17, 2007
in Omaha. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Isidore 
Catholic Church in Columbus. Burial will be at the All Saints Cemetery 
in Columbus. Preston Joseph Bridger was born May 23, 2006, in Columbus.
Preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Edwin Dubas, William 
Tichota, Sr., and Paul and Marge Moore. 

GRAND ISLAND - Betty (Coffey) GALEY, 67, of Grand Island, formerly 
of Columbus, died Jan. 16, 2007. A memorial service will be held on 
Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Luke's United Church of Christ. Burial will be 
at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. 

SCHUYLER - Funeral services for 95-year-old Emily HORAK of Schuyler 
will be at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 23, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in 
Schuyler. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery. Born Dec. 27, 1911, in 
Colfax County to Raymond and Antonia (Kment) Slavik. Married Frank Horak 
on Febr. 27, 1938.

COLUMBUS - Frederick H. GREINER, 61, of Columbus, died Jan. 22, 2007
in Omaha. Services Jan. 26, 2007 at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is 
at the Columbus Cemetery. Born Mar. 29, 1945, to Hans Greiner and 
Genevieve (Legenza) Greiner-Fought. He is survived by many cousins 
and preceded in death by his parents.

Married to Harold Grotelueschen on Oct. 9, 1940. Preceded in death 
by her husband, Harold; sons Glen and Grant; and her parents, 
Diedrich and Emma Dirks. 

LINCOLN - Naomi M. ROSENBERRY, 71, of Lincoln, widow of Jimmie 
Dale, died Jan. 16, 2007. Services: Jan. 19, 2007 at the Havelock 
United Methodist church. Born Dec. 31, 1935, in Monroe, to Walter 
and May (Watts) Schmidt. Preceded in death by her parents 
and husband.

PALMER - Wynona FORBES, 87, of Palmer, died Jan. 23, 2007 in Grand Island.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 27, 2007 at Palmer United Methodist 
Church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

FT. DODGE, Kan. - LaVerne V. RABOURN, 82, died Jan. 24, 2007 in Dodge City, Kan.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 27, 2007 at the Ft. Dodge Chapel.
Burial will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

William H. LARSEN, age 92, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away 
Jan. 28, 2007. Funeral services will be Feb. 2, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the

Kristine K. LUCHSINGER, 55, of Tucson, Ariz., died Jan. 27, 2007, in Tucson. 
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Feb. 3, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. 
Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, all in Columbus. McKown Funeral 
Home is in charge of arrangements.

George BEHLEN, 84, of Columbus passed away Jan. 30, at Fountain Hills, Ariz. 
Arrangements are pending at Gass Haney Funeral Home.

Elmadene WALBRECHT, age 90 of York, died at her home Jan. 29, 2007. 
Born at Beatrice, NE on Mar. 20, 1916, to Jess Earl and Florence Ethel 
(Powell) Eichhorn. On July 12, 1938 married Lawrence Tilley at 
Columbus, NE. Lawrence died on Jan. 18, 1975. On Oct. 9, 1981,
married Morris Forrest Walbrecht at Seward, NE. Morris preceded 
her in death on Oct. 12, 1997. Preceded in death by her parents 
and both husbands. Services: Feb. 2, 2007, at the First Christian 
Church in York. Burial: Columbus Cemetery, Columbus, NE. 

John M. PALIK, 48 of McCool Junction died Jan. 31, 2007 in Lincoln. 
Services pending with Chermok Funeral Home in David City.

Darlene LOVELL, 73, of Columbus, died Jan. 29, 2007, in Genoa. 
Funeral service: Feb. 2, 2007, 10 a.m. at the Gass Haney Funeral

Emma HAKE, 87, of Rogers died Jan. 27, 2007, in David City.
