McChesney on June 5, 1960, at Bartley. They moved to Blue Hill in 1962 and owned and operated the Blue Hill Veterinary Clinic. Preceded in death by his father, Noel. Services are Jan. 26, 2007, 1 p.m., at the Blue Hill United Methodist Church in Blue Hill. A private family burial will be at a later date in the Blue Hlll Cemetery. DUMAS, Texas -- Gilbert 'Gib' RICHARDS, 83, died Jan. 18, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Services: Jan. 24, 2007, in Morrison Memorial Chapel. Born June 15, 1923, in Stratton, to Prier and Blanche Richards. Served two years in the U. S. Navy during World War II. In Aug. 1951, he married Esta Stinnette, who preceded him in death in 2002. Also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hamilton. Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas, Texas is in charge of arrangements. Larry L. PARSONS, 54, died Jan. 21, 2007 at his home in McCook. Born March 16, 1952, to Otto M. and Mabel B. (Daniels) Parsons at McCook. Served in the U.S. Navy on Nov. 4, 1970. Preceding him in death were his parents, Otto and Mabel Parsons and sister-in-law, Joan Parsons. Interment with military honors will follow services at Rose Hill Cemetery near Stratton. OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Cynthia Ann BERGLING, age 49, passed away Jan. 18, 2007, in Overland Park, Kan. She died of complications from severe infections after more than a two year battle from major brain trauma incurred from an automobile accident. Born Aug.16, 1957, in McCook. She was the daughter of Phillip and Laverne Niemeth and grew up in Herndon. Married to David Bergling. Preceded in death by her father, Phil and brother Tom. Memorial Service will be at St. Mary's Parish in Herndon, at 4 p.m., on Jan. 26, 2007. Charles Alfred WEGENER, 89, passed away on Jan. 19, 2007 in McCook. Born on Oct. 15, 1917, in Estavan, Canada to Anton C. and Clara Amanda (Lippman) Wegener. Entered the U.S. Army on Nov. 20, 1937, in Lincoln, ND. During his military service, he married Bertha Mary Teppo on Mar. 3, 1939, in Bismarck, ND. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bertha in 1990 and one son, Wayne. GARDEN GROVE, Calif. -- Shirley June (Hamilton) GRANT, born May 30, 1925 in McCook, died Jan. 15, 2007, in Palm Desert, Calif. Survived by her husband, Jim; daughters Linda and Vicky: and grandchildren Justin, Jenae and Gina. Katherine Eckhardt ADAMS, died Jan. 18, 2007 in McCook at the age of 95. Born March 17, 1911, at Frank, Russia to Jacob and Katarine (Schreiner) Eckhardt. Came to America in October 1912, and arrived in McCook in 1913. Married Edward Jacob Adams on June 3, 1928, at Oberlin. They lived and farmed at Culbertson. Preceding her in death was her husband, Edward J. Adams in September 1978; her parents; stepmother, Katie Heinbigner Eckhardt; infant twin sister, Lydia and sisters, Elsie and Henrietta; an infant brother, Conrad Eckhardt; sisters, Natalie Kern, Elizabeth Hidy and Esther Sinner; brothers, Jake Eckhardt, George Eckhardt, John Eckhardt, Reinhold Eckhardt and Jake Heinbigner. Funeral services were at St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery. Dorothy May MINARY, 79, died Jan. 18, 2007 in McCook. Born May 26, 1927, to John P. and Lillie M. (Clark) Wallace in Cambridge. On Oct. 30, 1942, she married Percy L. Minary in Oberlin. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Percy on July 10, 1985; two granddaughters, Debbie and Cindy Minary and an infant grandson and infant granddaughter; one great-grandson, Shane Michael Miller; three brothers, Tom Wallace, Gary Wallace and Alfred Wallace; and two sisters, Helen Shepherd and Edna Judd. Funeral services: at Carpenter Breland Chapel. Burial will be at the Culbertson Cemetery. Elmer Dean KEEN, 87, died Jan. 17, 2007. Born Dec. 6, 1920, in Lincoln, to Martin and Helen Keen. He grew up near McCook and graduated from high school in 1939. Was a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by his two children, Anne Catherine and Dean Edward and parents, Helen and Martin Keen. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park. Born April 1, 1929, in Culbertson to Henry and Anna Marie (Hein) Yeager. On May 14, 1950, he married Norma Jean Wolgamott. Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Anna Yeager; his wife, Norma on Nov. 30, 1993; three brothers, Harry, Henry and George in infancy; and four sisters, Esther Zwickle, Mabel Herrmann, Marie Brenning and Alma Dack. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery. ELWOOD-- Wilma Louise SERGEL, 85, died Jan. 15, 2007. Born Aug. 30, 1921, in Frontier County to William A. and Louise M. (Seikjost) Schneider. On Oct. 2, 1946, she married Paul Charles Sergel in Eustis. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul Charles Sergel and brother, Carl Schneider. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery. Beatrice "Artie" Marie BLAKE of McCook died in her home at Highland Park Jan. 17, 2007. She was 100 years old. Born Jan. 19, 1906, in Indianola to Henry Theodore and Anna Marie (Jensen) Lang. On Sept. 25, 1924, she married Vernon M. Blake at Oberlin. Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Anna Lang; her husband, Vernon Blake in 1976; one brother, Thuren Lang; and two sisters, Lela Lehn and Bessie Loux. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. ATWOOD -- Lucille Theresa (Marintzer) SOLKO was the sixth child born to Joseph and Mary (Huss) Marintzer on Aug. 28, 1916. She passed away Dec. 18, 2006, at the age of 90 years. On May 20, 1941, she married Albert Solko at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Herndon. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Albert in 1987, and her six brothers. CAMBRIDGE-- Clara M. (Gay) CASFORD died Jan. 14, 2007 at the age of 96. Born Dec. 15, 1910, at Lebanon the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Hallie Elizabeth (Horton) Weatherwax. On June 25, 1930, she married Truman A. Gay at Oberlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Gay on Mar. 18, 1965. On June 18, 1970, she married Glen Casford. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1974. Preceded in death by her brother, Elvis Weatherwax and his wife, Mae. Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook. Interment will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Jackilyn "Jackie" McCARTER, 63, died Jan. 4, 2007 in McCook. Born April 24, 1943, to Thomas and Georgina (Fyrer) Grant in Ontario, Canada. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Grant Sr. and Georgina Grant; sister, Susan Grant; and ex-husband Bud Hunter. A service will be this spring in Lexington.
