Born Nov. 28, 1930 in Omaha to Herbert and Ruth (Brunner) Gaeth. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Betty Keller. Mildred M. BROOKE, age 77, of Benedict, NE, died Dec. 30, 2006 at York. Born Feb. 25, 1929 at Thayer, NE to Elmer and Mabel (Zwiebel) Heiden. On April 27, 1952 she was married to Jackie L. Brooke in York County. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services: January 4, 2007 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery northeast of York. Metz Mortuary in York was in charge of arrangements. Mary R. Glatter DOBIAS, age 97, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away Jan. 11, 2007 at David Place in David City, Nebraska. Funeral services were Jan. 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. Interment was in the Shelby Sacred Heart Cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg was in charge of arrangements. Born Mar. 4, 1909 to John and Millie (Novak) Kubicek on a farm near Valparaiso, Nebraska. Marriage to Leo H. Glatter on May 3, 1939 at St. Andrews Parish northwest of Shelby. Leo died in May of 1978. On Oct. 28, 1988, Mary married Paul Dobias at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husbands Leo Glatter and Paul Dobias; twin granddaughters, Sarah and Casey Glatter; one sister Helen Alt; six brothers, John Kubicek, Charlie Kubicek, Emil Kubicek, William Kubicek, Joe Kubicek, and Alouis Kubicek. Irma Stewart HILL, 83, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Dec. 24, 2006. Born Feb. 15, 1923 in Osceola, NE. The daughter of Charles and Elsie (Wolfe) Stewart, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her sister Ruth Slack, and brother Elmer Stewart. Married W. Victor Hill on July 20, 1946 in Washington, D.C. He preceded her death on Feb. 27, 1987. Funeral services: Dec. 28, 2006 at the Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Burial was at the Dexter City Cemetery in Dexter, MO. Ruth Frances SHENK, 92, of Stromsburg formerly of Polk and Central City, died on Jan. 6, 2007. Funeral services: Jan. 11, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Polk. Interment will be in the Polk Cemetery. Born on Sept. 21, 1914, in York County near Bradshaw to John and Anna (Carlson) Johnson. On Feb. 6, 1935, married Herschel H. Shenk in York. Preceded in death by her husband; her son – Carroll Shenk on May 22, 1995; her daughter-in-law,Charlene Shenk on March 22, 1994; a granddaughter – Rita Dawn; a grandson – Lawrence Keith; and two brothers – Milton Johnson, a WWII Air Force serviceman who was the first York County casualty of WWII; and Herman Johnson. Margaret Oglesby SHAW STEVENS, 84, of Aurora, CO, died Dec. 30, 2006. Preceded in death by husbands Wendell G. Shaw in Nov. 1969, and Raymond R. Stevens in Feb. 2004; in addition to brothers Rollie, Lloyd, and JC Oglesby; sisters Lola Mae Oglesby and Bertha Smith; and great-grandson Alex Simpson. Services: Dec. 27, 2006 at Arbor Drive Community Church in York. Funeral services for Wallace Warren ZADE at the Evangelical Free Church of Orleans, NE on Dec. 29, 2006. Interment was in the Orleans Cemetery. Wally Zade, 62, of Aurora, passed away on Dec. 23, 2006 at Lincoln. Born Oct. 26, 1944 in Van Port, Oregon, the first son of 5 children born to Lester and Violet (Mays) Zade. Nov. of 1965 married Ida Kelly in Holdrege, NE and to this union one daughter, Lisa Lyn was born. In July of 1979, Wally married Linda Mooney of Stromsburg.
