SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Daniel Paul HUNTER, 69, of South Sioux City passed 
away June 28, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital. Services Monday at Glad 
Tidings Lighthouse Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. 
Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Daniel was 
born Dec. 12, 1937, in Winnebago, Neb., the son of George R. and 
Nellie F. (Rich) Hunter. He was a longtime resident of South Sioux City.
Married Marilyn A. Kuzela on June 16, 1967, in South Sioux City. 
Preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Vi Hunter 
and Margie Hunter.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Louvenia E. BOYKIN, 94, of South Sioux City 
passed away July 2, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services were at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in 
Dakota City (Neb.) Cemetery. Born June 4, 1913, in rural Boulevard Co., Shaw, Miss., 
the daughter of William A. and Junetta (Holmes) Pratt. Married George P. Boykin on 
Oct. 18, 1931, in Choctow, Miss. He died June 27, 2000, in South Sioux City. 
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. George P. Boykin; a 
daughter, Jeanette Boykin; two sons, Donald and Gene Boykin; and a 
grandson, Richard Buhrman.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Ruth R. MILLER, 88, of Sioux City, formerly of 
South Sioux City, passed away July 4, 2007, at a Sioux City care center.
Memorial services July 7, 2007 at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will 
be in St Michael Catholic Cemetery. Ruth was born Jan. 10, 1919, in 
Jackson, Neb., the daughter of Walter A. and Ida B. (Reed) Mackey. 
Married Leslie Horn. After his death, she married Merle Murray. After his 
death, she married LeRoy Miller. Preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy 
in 1979; her parents; and a daughter, Connie Ash. 

PENDER, Neb. -- Carol D. GILSON, 80, of Pender died July 9, 2007, at 
his residence. Services will be July 12, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church 
in Bancroft, Neb. Burial will be in Bancroft Cemetery. Munderloh Funeral 
Home in Bancroft in charge. 

VERDIGRE, Neb. -- Darlene MASLONKA, 76, of Verdigre died July 1, 2007
in Creighton, Neb. Services were held July 7, at Brockhaus Funeral Chapel 
in Verdigre. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Darlene M. Maslonka, the 
daughter of Emma Belle (Keyser) and Ernest Edmisten, was born 
Aug. 9, 1930, in Walthill, Neb. Married Don Maslonka on Dec. 14, 1947, in 
Walthill. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald; brothers, Virgil, Dale 
and Don; and a sister, Marvelyn. 

NEWCASTLE, Neb. -- Henry William SCHINDLER, infant son of Tim and 
Jennifer Schindler of Newcastle, was stillborn July 7, 2007, in Wayne, Neb.
Graveside services Friday, July 13, 2007 in Calvary Cemetery, Newcastle. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel 
in Sioux City. 

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. -- Alma Clara HUSS, 97, of Nebraska City died 
July 6, 2007 in Nebraska City. Services July 11, 2007 at Peterson Mortuary 
in Nebraska City. Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery. 

HOMER, Neb. -- Barbara A. LEMON, 72, of Homer passed away July 8, 2007.
Memorial services July 12, 2007 at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will be 
in Dakota City Cemetery. Born Sept. 29, 1934, in South Sioux City, the 
daughter of George H. and Ruby M. (Appleton) Wilson. Married Charles 
Lemon Jr. on Oct. 15, 1960, in Elk Point, S.D. Preceded in death by her 
parents; two brothers, David and Jim Wilson; and a sister, Betty Wagner.

COLERIDGE, Neb. -- Gerald "Jerry" KALIN, 50, of Coleridge died July 8, 2007.
Services July 11, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge. Burial will 
be in Lawn Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wintz 
Funeral Home in Coleridge. 

BANCROFT, Neb. -- Winnifred F. BASSETT, 94, died July 8, 2007
in Pender, Neb. Services July 11, 2007 at Bancroft Presbyterian Church. 
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Walthill, Neb.

CROFTON, Neb. -- Lavina E. PLANTENBERG, 79, of Crofton died July 10, 2007
in Coleridge, Neb. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic 
Church in Crofton. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. Arr. are under the 
direction of Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. Born Nov. 29, 1927, to Benedict H. 
and Louise (Wuestewald) Hegge. Married Emil Plantenberg on Aug. 25, 1947, in 
Crofton. Preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Roger, Danny and Donny 
Plantenberg; a son-in-law, Bill Gill; a grandson, Tim Colt; four brothers; 
and seven sisters.

OMAHA, Neb. -- Claudene THOMAS, 35, of Omaha died July 11, 2007.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Alfred Gilpin Building in Macy, Neb. 
Burial will be in Omaha Tribal Cemetery. Arr. are under the direction of 
Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Neb. 

STURGIS, S.D. -- Bonnie Lou LARSEN, 65, of Sturgis died July 10, 2007, at 
her sister's residence in Sturgis. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday 
in Hartington City Cemetery, Hartington, Neb. There will be no visitation. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. 

TEKAMAH, Neb. -- Ray Fredrick DEEMER, 70, of Tekamah died July 12, 2007.
Visitation with the family was held July 13 at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. 

CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Marie DeWITT, 87, of Cherokee, formerly of Washta, Iowa, 
passed away July 13, 2007 following a one-year illness. Services July 16, 2007 
at Washta United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sunset View Cemetery at 
Washta. Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Born Feb. 14, 1920, at Lincoln, Neb., 
to Christian and Catherine (Knaub) Korell. Married to Donald L. DeWitt on 
May 14, 1941, at Buffalo, N.Y. Preceded in death by her parents; her 
husband, Donald on July 18, 2005; and a sister, Clara Smalldone

JACKSON, Neb. -- Mary Rose RASMUSSEN, 89, of Ponca, Neb., formerly of 
rural Jackson, died July 14, 2007, in Ponca. Services July 17, 2007 at St. 
Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson. Burial will be in Memorial Park 
Cemetery, Sioux City. Arr. Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. 

PONCA, Neb. -- Garry Loy NELSON, 72, of Ponca died July 13, 2007, at 
his residence. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mohr Funeral 
Home in Ponca. Burial will be at a later date. Per Garry's request, he was 
cremated.  

WINNEBAGO, Neb. -- Jalena MaRae PAYER, 2-year-old daughter of Terrell 
Freemont of Walthill, Neb., and Candace Payer of Winnebago, passed away 
Friday, July 13, 2007, at Children's Methodist Hospital in Omaha, after a 
sudden illness. Services at the Ho-Chunk Center in Winnebago. Burial 
in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of 
Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Neb. Jalena was born Dec. 16, 2004, 
in Sioux City, the daughter of Terrell Freemont and Candace Payer.
She was preceded in death by an aunt, Tressa Freemont.
