in David City. Services Mar. 8, 2007 at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard.

SILVER CREEK - Kathleen SCHOTT, 83, of Silver Creek, died Mar. 2, 2007
in Central City. Funeral Services: Mar. 6, 2007 at the United Methodist 
Church in Silver Creek. Burial is in the Silver Creek Cemetery.
Born May 12, 1923 at Rising City, Nebraska. She was the daughter of 
John M. and Myrtle (Baker) White. On Jan. 19, 1947, marriage to Merle 
P. Schott at Silver Creek. Preceded in death by her husband, Merle P. 
Schott on April, 27 1984, her father, John M. White in 1967 and her 
mother Myrtle White in 1995.

NORFOLK - Funeral services for Helen E. BERGLAND, 73, Mar. 6, 2007
at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial 
Park Cemetery. Helen died Mar. 2, 2007. Born on Mar. 29, 1933 in 
Mitchell, South Dakota, the daughter of James and Enith (Felton) Garner. 
Married Donavon Bergland on July 28, 1951 at the United Methodist 
Church in Plainview. Preceded in death by her husband in 1989, 
her parents and two sisters. 

POLK - Delores Caroline (Schmidt) MILLER, 68, died Mar. 3, 2007, at 
her home after a battle with cancer. Services Mar. 6, 2007, at 
Faith Lutheran Church in Rising City. Burial will be in the Faith 
Lutheran West Cemetery in Rising City. Dubas Funeral Home of 
Osceola and Stromsburg is in charge of arrangements. 

NEWPORT, Wash. - Leon M. CLAUSEN, 48, of Newport, Wash., died 
Mar 1, 2007, at his home in Newport after a battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 2, 1958, in Columbus, the son of Gunnar and Isabelle (Gossman) 
Clausen. In 1986 Leon met and married Roberta Knapp in Enumclaw, Wash. 
A memorial service was held on Mar 6, at the American Lutheran Church in 
Newport. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home and Crematory in Newport, Wash., 
was in charge of arrangements.

FREMONT - Dennis VLACH, 82, of Fremont, formerly of Clarkson, died 
Mar 7, 2007. Funeral services: Mar 10, 2007 at New Zion Presbyterian 
Church in Clarkson. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on 
Monday at Fremont Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. 

COLUMBUS - Vincent H. MAUSBACH, 87, of Columbus, died Mar 6, 2007.
Funeral services: Mar 10, 2007 at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Columbus. 
Burial, with full military honors, is at All Saints Cemetery in Columbus.
Born on Nov. 15, 1919, at the family farm in rural Humphrey. One of eight 
children born to Agnes (Pillen) and Henry Mausbach. Enlisted U. S. Air Corp 
on Jan. 30, 1942. He received an Honorable Discharge on June 1, 1945.
On May 27, 1947, Vincent married Floreine Greisen. Preceded in death by 
his parents; brothers, Francis and Joseph Mausbach; sisters, Margaret 
Magsamen, Esther Fyfe, and Irene Moran; and granddaughter, Suzanne Koziol.

FULLERTON - Lee A. SONDERUP, 76, of Fullerton, died Mar 7, 2007 
in Grand Island. Funeral services: Mar 10, 2007 at First Presbyterian 
Church in Fullerton. Burial is at the Fullerton Cemetery.

DAVID CITY - Mary F. NAVRATIL, 91, of David City, died Mar 8, 2007.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Mar 12, 2007 at St. Luke's Czech 
Shrine, Loma. Burial is at the church cemetery.

COLUMBUS - Donald L. MILLER, 79, of Columbus, died Mar 7, 2007.
The funeral service will be held on Mar 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Trinity 
Lutheran Church in Columbus. Private family interment will be at Roselawn 
Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Military honors will be by the American 
Legion Hartman Post No. 84 Honor Guard.

SCHUYLER - Dorothy HESPEN, 78 of Omaha, formerly of Schuyler, died 
Mar 9, 2007, in Omaha. Services are pending with Svoboda Funeral Home 
in Schuyler. 

COLUMBUS - Frankie C. BRINKMAN, age 55, of Columbus died Mar 8, 2007 
at his home. Funeral services are Mar 12, 2007 at the McKown Funeral Home. 
Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery with military honors. Born Nov. 21, 1951
in Oregon City, Ore., to Harold and Twila (Armstrong) Brinkman. On July 14, 1989
he married Janet Hassebrook in Columbus. Preceded in death by his father 
and infant son: Robert.

YUKON, Okla. - Donald D. HAMEL, 72, of Yukon, Okla., formerly of 
Fullerton, died Mar 8, 2007, at Spanish Cove Pavillion in Yukon.
Services are pending with Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. 

PIERCE - Frances KROPATCH, 91, of Pierce, died Mar 8, 2007.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 
in Pierce. Burial will be private for family at a later date. 
Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Pierce in charge. Born June 27, 1915
in Polk County to Charlie Iwan and Mary Gonka. She married Emry 
Kropatch Aug. 9, 1943, at Fort Lawton, Wash. Her husband passed 
away in 1979. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emry
who died in 1979; two brothers, Louis and Edward; and three 
sisters, Adelaid, Helen and Marianne. 

LINCOLN - Donna Mae CREBBIN, 80, of Lincoln, died Mar 9, 2007, in Lincoln
Preceded in death by beloved husband, Harry J. Crebbin, her parents Anton 
and Emma (Boro) Micek and an infant brother Robert Charles, as well as 
her precious aunt, Genya Bono. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday 
at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Columbus, Nebraska. 

FREMONT - Jeffrey Dean BARNES, 41, of Fremont, died Mar 8, 2007.
Private services are Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman 
Grove. Military internment will be at Hope Cemetery in Newman Grove.
Born Sept. 9, 1965, in Geneva. Joined the army, served in 
Baumholder, Germany, and was honorably discharged in 1988. 
Married Renee Helter on Sept. 25, 1999.

COLUMBUS - Myron J. JOHNSON, 81, of Columbus, died 
Mar 12, 2007, at his home. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on 
Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be at the 
St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery, with military honors by 
American Legion Hartman Post No. 84 Honor Guard. Born 
May 21,1925, in Columbus, to Phillip and Bertha (Ebner) 
Johnson. On Feb. 12, 1952, he married Marie Sleddens at 
St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Served in the 
U. S. Army during World War II. He held the Good Conduct 
Medal, Combat Infantry, Purple Heart for wounds received 
in battle while in Germany, Bronze Star and the Victory Medal. 
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Moore.

OMAHA - Edwin J. VanDYKE, 92, of Omaha, formerly of Humphrey
died Mar 13, 2007. Services are pending with Duesman Funeral 
Chapel in Humphrey. 

COLUMBUS - Heino SIEFKEN, 91, of Columbus, died Mar 13, 2007.
Services are pending with Gass Haney Funeral Home. 

ST. EDWARD - Otto F. NAUENBURG, 91, of St. Edward, died 
Mar 13, 2007, at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk.
Services Mar 16, 2007 at Salem Lutheran Church in rural St. Edward. 
Burial is at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites conducted 
by Crosier American Legion Post No. 226 of St. Edward.
Otto Frank Nauenburg, the son of Christ and Lena (Glass) Nauenburg, 
was born on Nov. 13, 1915, on a farm near Duncan. On April 4, 1945, 
Otto entered the U. S. Army and served in World War II. 
On Feb. 23, 1951, Otto was united in marriage to Ruth Nicklasson 
at the Salem Lutheran Parsonage. Ruth passed away in 1963. 
Preceded in death by parents; wife, Ruth; brothers, Herman 
and Rudy; and sister, Hildagard Krause.

GARRISON - John DARO, 83, of Garrison, died Mar 17, 2007.
Born Dec. 9, 1923, at Ulysses, to Bernard and Martha (Fricke) Daro. 
He was a rural mail carrier for over 50 years. He served in the Air 
Force during World War II. Services: at Redeemer Lutheran Church 
in David City. Burial was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in 
Rising City. Chermok Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

HUMPHREY - Ronald Dean CLASSEN, 56, of Humphrey, died Mar 16, 2007
at his home. Services at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. 
Burial is at St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey. Born Aug. 10, 1950, in 
Humphrey, to Alfred J. and Carolyn J. (Wessel) Classen. Served in the 
U. S. Army in Vietnam. Married Mary Elizabeth Zach on May 2, 1981, in 
Humphrey, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his parents.

and Helen Glaunert; brother, Richard Glaunert; sister, Nita Gibson; 
grandson, Andrew Mohrmann; and granddaughter, Shelia McCarter.
