Imperial Republican Mar 2007 Gladys Esther HARTMAN b on Sept. 10, 1917, at Surprise, Neb., to Ray S. and Mary E. (Yordy) Way. On Sept. 18, 1938, at her parent's home, Gladys married Raymond Byron Hartman. Gladys passed away Mar 3, 2007 in Imperial. She was 89 years of age. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray, in 1999; five brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Elmer, Delmar and Donald; sister, Luella Marquis; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Funeral services: Mar 7 at the First United Methodist Church of Imperial. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial. Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Dwane Eugene BELL b Aug. 17, 1949, in Lincoln, Neb. He was the third of seven children. In 1969, enlisted in the Military Police Corps in the U.S Air Force earning the rank of Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1971. In 1976 Dwane married Janet Mulder. To this union was born one son, Benjamin. In 1983, Dwane married Jan Frosh. To this union three children were born: Breanne, Robert and Brian. After a prolonged battle with cancer Dwane passed away in Lincoln, Neb. on Feb. 2, 2007. Preceded in death by his father, William; and brother, Larry. Berniece Fontella TEPLY was born on Feb. 5, 1921, in Perkins County, near Madrid, Neb. to Fred and Hazel (Peak) Fosbinder. Married Raymond Teply on Oct. 11, 1938 in North Platte, Neb. She died Feb. 17, 2007 at 86 years of age. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond, in 1993; son, Gary; and two brothers. Funeral Mass: Feb. 21, 2007 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imperial. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, Neb. Gladys Beulah SMITH was born Feb. 25, 1907, at Comers Rock, Va. to John Harvey and Ida Mae (Shoop) Comer. Married Leslie E. Smith on May 26, 1927, in Sterling, Colo. Les passed away at the age of 80 in 1978 and Gladys died Mar 13, 2007in Imperial, Neb. She was 100 years of age. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Les, grandson Leslie in 1977, and daughter-in-law Nelba in 2005, brothers Carl and Donald, sisters Nana and Lois, and one infant brother. Funeral services: Mar 16, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church of Imperial. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, Neb. Verna ANDERSON of Wauneta, Neb. died Mar 19, 2007 in Imperial, Neb. Funeral services: March 22, at United Methodist Church in Wauneta. Liewer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Constance J. HUNT, age 56, of Ogallala, passed away Mar 12, 2007 in Grant. Born May 22, 1950 at Smith Center, Kan., the daughter of James C. and Mildred T. (Turner) Clonch. On Dec. 20, 1968 she married Roger Hunt. She married John Washa on June 22, 1996 at Ogallala. Services were: Mar 15 at the Gubser Funeral Chapel. Cremation with inurnment at the Hillsdale Cemetery near Phillipsburg, Kan. at a later date. Margaret "Johnnie" Irene (Pugh) LEACH was born May 29, 1911, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Myrtle Cordelia (Lamberd) and Thomas Vincent Pugh. Her father died when she was 20 months old. He had wanted a boy and nicknamed her "Johnnie" when she was born. Her mother married Orley Coe when she was five years old. Johnnie She and Charles Leach married June 24, 1928, in Torrington, Wyo. Johnnie passed away Mar 16, 2007. She was 95 years of age. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; sons, Dick and Tommy; and grandson, Dick Creveling. Funeral services were held Mar 19, 2007, at the United Methodist Church, Imperial, Neb. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, Neb. Lula May MYERS, 84, of North Platte died Mar 23, 2007 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were Mar 27, 2007, at the North Platte First United Methodist Church. Verlene W. (Willsey) WRIGHT was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Huntley, Neb. She was the fourth child born to Delburn Fay and Irene Anna (Ball) Willsey. Graduated McCook College with an elementary teacher's certificate. Married Harold R. Wright on June 7, 1945 in Oberlin, Kan., while he was home on leave during WWII. Harold preceded her in death on Mar 22, 1998. Verlene passed away on Mar 21, 2007. Preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Harold; infant daughter, Barbara Ann; daughter, Karen Kunnemann; grandchildren, Shelley Martin, Jeff Kunnemann and infant Wright; son-in-law, Garry Martin, all of Imperial, and sister, Berdeanne Jussell-Stewart of Grand Island, Neb. Memorial services were held Mar 26, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Imperial, Neb. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, Neb.
