Born Feb. 12, 1985, at North Platte to Dann E. and Sue Ann (Hayes) Nelms. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. (MST) at the United Methodist Church in Benkelman. Interment will follow services at the Benkelman Cemetery. The casket will remain closed. Arrangements are under the direction of Forch Funeral Chapel of Benkelman. HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -- Eugene John SCHILZ, 77, died Feb. 28, 2007. Born Feb. 5, 1930, in McCook to Jacob and Nelly Schilz. Served in the Marine Corps from 1951 until 1953, and had received the National Defense Service Ribbon. He served in the Reserve until 1959. A funeral mass will be Monday, 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Lake in Hendersonville. Burial will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Born Aug. 2, 1922, in Haigler to Sherman D. and Opal R. (Peterson) Phifer. Graduated from Benkelman High School in 1941. Married Lee Cox on Mar 16, 1943, in Benkelman. Preceded in death by her husband in 1999; two brothers, George Phifer and Dellis Phifer and a sister, Julia Pearl Bailey. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at Longmont Community Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be at the Haigler Cemetery in Haigler. ARAPAHOE -- Alvena Johanna Anna WICKENKAMP, 90 of Elwood, died Mar 4, 2007. Born June 22, 1916, at Frontier County to John and Johanna Anna (Noltensmeier) Wickenkamp. On April 25, 1946, married William Theodore Wickenkamp at Salem Lutheran Church of Elwood. He preceded her in death in 1975. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, William T. Wickenkamp; daughter, Linda Wickenkamp; and brother, Arthur Ficken. Funeral services at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe. Burial will be at Salem West Cemetery in rural Elwood. Lloyd Ivan REDMER, 82, died Mar 3, 2007. Born Dec. 6, 1924, in Trenton to Herman Otto and Rosa Henrietta Augusta (Steinke) Redmer. Graduated from Trenton High School in 1942. On June 2, 1943, he entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II. On April 25, 1957, he married Lena Marvin Matz in Wolf Point, Mont. Preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Rosa Redmer; his wife, Lena; one sister, Florence Barth; and five brothers, Otto, Emil, Henry, Louie and Lester Redmer. A graveside memorial service will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell on April 6, 2 p.m. A full honorary committal will be held. CULBERTSON -- Norma M. (Hagemann) McKEE, 73, died Mar 5, 2007 at her rural Culbertson home. Born on Feb. 13, 1934, at Culbertson to William F. and Pauline (Bauer) Hagemann. On Sept. 28, 1958, she married John Eugene McKee at San Diego, Calif. Preceding her in death were her father, William Hagemann on Feb. 27, 1988; her husband, John on May 30, 1998; and brother, Robert on May 1, 1969. Funeral services: at the Culbertson St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery. MAX -- Phyllis Jean RICKARD, of Max, died Mar 5, 2007 in Benkelman at the age of 76. Born June 16, 1930, at Trenton, to Claude and Susie (Newport) Adamson. On Sept.14, 1952, married to Derald Lee Rickard at Benkelman and they made their home on a farm southeast of Max. She was an elementary teacher and taught for more than 44 years, the last 23 as a first grade teacher at Benkelman Elementary. Preceding her in death are her parents, Claude and Susie Adamson; and her brothers, Richard Adamson and B. Nolan Adamson. Funeral services: at Forch Funeral Chapel in Benkelman. Interment will follow services at the Benkelman Cemetery. WRAY, Colo. -- Alice Lucille BLACK, 92, died Feb. 24, 2007. Bom Feb. 16, 1915, in Prairie View in Phillips County, Kan., to Mirium and Lillie May (Kappers) Randolph. Married Clarence Black in Hoxie, Kan., on Aug. 5, 1937. They raised their children in Indianola. Lived in McCook after his death on Sept. 20, 1990, for about 10 years. Moved to Wray, Colo., in 2001. A memorial service:, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Yuma, Colo. ARAPAHOE?-- Otto George HAUSSLER, 97, died Mar 5, 2007 in Cozad, NE. Born July 22, 1909, north of Holbrook, to Carl and Mary (Huxoll) Haussler. On May 4, 1930, he married Josie Fay Cross at St. Matthews Lutheran Church of rural Holbrook. They were the first couple to be married in the St. Matthews Church. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josie Fay Haussler; son, Bernard Haussler; daughter-in-law, Carol Haussler; granddaughter, Audrey Haussler; and great-granddaughter, Kristina Haussler. Funeral services: Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe. Burial will be in the Holbrook Cemetery. ELWOOD -- Melvin HOULDEN, 78, died Mar 7, 2007. Born Jan. 22, 1929, at Lexington to Clyde Sr. and Mary (Hanson) Houlden. Enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951, and was stationed in Korea. Married Berdina Lucille Moritz on Jan. 1, 1956, at Salem Lutheran Church of rural Elwood. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clyde Houlden Jr.; sister, Doris Moncrief; and grandson, Shayne MacDonald. Funeral services: at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood. Burial will be at Elwood Cemetery, with military rites given by the American Legion Post No. 290 of Elwood. CAMBRIDGE -- Frances G. JACKSON, 92, died Feb. 11, 2007. Born in Spavinaw, Okla., on Jan. 30, 1915, to Reese Davis and Laura Anna (Blakemore) Whittington. In 1935, she married Tim Jackson in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1991. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tim; a grandson, Tim Patterson; three brothers, Jack, Davis and Louis; and two sisters, Mabel and an infant. Funeral services: Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge. CENTERVILLE, Iowa -- Cecil CARLSON, 91, died Mar 6, 2007 in Centerville, Iowa. Born Dec. 31, 1915, the son of Axel and Agnes (Samuelson) Carlson in McLean. Married Ruby Bruse on June 23, 1942, in Omaha. Was in the U.S. Army Air Corp., and served in World War II. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; one sister, Verlyn Carlson; and one grandchild. A memorial service was at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Centerville. Burial will be in McCook at a later date. TRENTON -- Virginia Augustine HAWKINS, 75, died Mar 12, 2007 at her home in Trenton. Born Jan. 15, 1932, at Paintersville, Ky., to Henry and Greta (Bailey) Fyffe. Preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jan and Lee. Memorial services will be at a later date in California. Herrmann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Marian Annamarie (Buzzell) WOODMAN died Mar 12, 2007 in McCook at the age of 88. Born July 21, 1918, at Loveland, Colo., the daughter of the late George and Katherine (Trautman) Fahrenbruch. On Oct. 1, 1939, Marian married Earl M. "Rosy" Buzzell. Preceded in death by her husband on April 12, 1984. On Nov. 21, 1992, Marian married Clifford Woodman at Shelton. Her husband, Clifford died Oct. 20, 1994. She was also preceded in death by one brother and 10 half brothers and sisters. Funeral services: at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery. BENKELMAN -- John Henry FRENZEN died Mar 1, 2007 in his home at Lakewood, Colo., at the age of 67. A memorial service was at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel in Lakewood on Mar 10, 2007. Born Dec. 9, 1939, in Benkelman to Henry C. and Leone (Vanderford) Frenzen. On Feb. 2, 1963, he married Sharon Glover in Kearney. Preceded in death by his father, Henry in 1978. BARTLEY?-- Gary Leon LANG, 66, died Mar 11, 2007 in McCook. Born in Bartley on Oct. 17, 1940, to George Clifford and Elsie May (Hann) Lang. He graduated from Bartley High School in 1958. In 1960, he entered the U.S. Army serving until 1963. Marriage to Marsha Erickson at Bartley in 1963. Married to Cathy Bass in 1981. Preceded in death by his father, George in December 0f 1994.
