Married Clyde McGonigle in Hutchinson, Kan., on Sept. 23, 1932. Preceded in death by husband Clyde; daughter Margaret Ackerman and 12 brothers and sisters. Services April 18, at the Friend Christian Assembly. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Milford. Libby Sally BEELAR, 93, Friend, died April 4, 2008, at the Friend Manor. Born April 13, 1914, on a farm near Dorchester to Joseph and Blanche (Kupka) Bruha. Married Ben Beranek on Dec. 27, 1931. After Ben's death, she married Clyde Beelar on Aug. 14, 1964. Preceded in death by husbands Ben Beranek and Clyde Beelar; son Benjamin Beranek Jr.; daughters Ramona Blecha and Shirley Johnson; grandson Kenny Beranek; son-in-law Frank Johnson; brother Emil Bruha and brother-in-law Louis Jirsa. Services May 9, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Dorchester. Inurnment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Milford. Isabelle Adeline NELSON, 93, died April 12, 2008, in Seward. Born Nov. 10, 1914, on the family farm near Axtell to Charles and Hanna (Broman) Nyquist. Married Lloyd Nelson on June 21, 1940, in Pasadena, Calif. She taught school in Kearney County for five years. Preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; brother and sister-in-law Leroy and Georgia Mae Nyquist and brother-in-law Bruce Warden. Services April 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell, NE. Interment at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Axtell. LeAnn M. GRIGSBY, 51, died April 13, 2008. Born March 16, 1957, to Joe and Elsie Leonard. On Dec. 29, 1990, she married Thomas J. Grigsby in Bassett, NE. Preceded in death by father-in-law John P. Grigsby. Marlea May SPREEMAN, 77, Friend, died April 7, 2008 in Lincoln. Born April 26, 1930, on a farm northwest of Friend to Francis and Esther (Zieman) Sims. She received a teaching certificate from Nebraska Wesleyan University and married LeRoy Spreeman on Aug. 3, 1952, at the Friend United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by son Robert and half-brother David. Services were April 11 at the Friend United Methodist Church. Interment was at Andrew Cemetery. Bonnie L. NELSEN, 75, Friend, died April 6, 2008, Waverly, NE. Born Sept. 8, 1932, near Cordova to Christian H. and Viola M. (Gillian) Ziegler. Married Virgil Nelsen at the Methodist Church in Friend on Feb. 7, 1954. She taught rural schools in Seward, Saline and York counties for six years. Preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Melvin Nelsen, Fern Flannigan and Louelma and Earl Ferguson. Services held April 10 at the Friend United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Andrew Cemetery in Friend. Sophie (Isakson) COYLE, 95, died April 13, 2008, in Canon City, Colo. Born Aug. 23, 1912, near Minot, N.D., to Olaf and Ella Isakson who emigrated from Sweden and Norway. Married John Coyle in 1942 and they moved to Ulysses in 1945 and then to Seward. Preceded in death by husband John; sisters Viola Norris and Anna Thompson and brother Oscar Isakson. Wilmar "Bill" Peter SCHOEPF, 85, died April 18, 2008, in Seward. Born March 2, 1923, in Staplehurst to George A. and Frieda (Daehling) Schoepf. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until Nov. 1945, as a 1st motor machinist on the USS Warren. Married Helen Eileen Anstine on June 5, 1943. Preceded in death by wife Helen; son Bruce A.; brothers and sister-in-law Melvin and Marge and Wayne Schoepf; and sister and brother-in-law Elvira and Milton Hackbart. Services were April 22 at St. John Lutheran Church. Interment was at Seward Cemetery with full military honors. Lois Leona (Panwitz) GIESSELMAN, 72, died April 19, 2008, in Seward. Born June 16, 1935, in Alliance to Rudolph Herman and Leona Ada (Scheer) Panwitz. Married Harry J. Giesselman in Lincoln on June 1, 1957. Taught private piano lessons for many years. Preceded in death by husband Dr. Harry J. Giesselman. Services April 23, 2008. at Zabka Funeral Home in Seward. A private family graveside service held at Seward Cemetery. Dwane Edward WEGNER, 79, died April 20, 2008. Born June 1, 1928, in West Point to Rudolph and Elizabeth (Bliemeister) Wegner. On Oct. 26, 1991, married Dorothy Naber Hackbart. Preceded in death by sister and brothers-in-law Mildred and Alfons Wegner and Elmer Stork and son-in-law Vince Brumbaugh. Services April 23, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Interment April 23 at Mount Hope Cemetery in West Point. Lucille A. BRANNEN, 90, David City, died April 15, 2008, in David City, NE. Born Oct. 18, 1917, in St. Paul to Walter and Victoria (Mikolayck) Wilson. Married Clair Brannen on June 24, 1941, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul, NE. Preceded in death by husband Clair; granddaughter Jordan Nickolite; brothers Rufen and Vern Wilson and sister Burnida Wilson. Services were April 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery. Michael Emmanuel KOZISEK, 83, died April 16, 2008, at Friend, NE. Born Dec. 25, 1924, in Garrison to Michael F. and Antonia J. (Jisa) Kozisek. He served in WWII in the Pacific Theatre from 1943 until 1946. Married Arvilla Brand on July 9, 1950. Preceded in death by brother Lewis Kozisek and sisters Dorothy Jorgensen and Alice Buell. Funeral services were held April 20, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friend. Interment was at Seward Cemetery with military services by the Seward VFW Post 4755. Albert BALDINGER, 82, died April 15, 2008, in Seward. Born July 27, 1915, in Detroit, Mich., to Albert Arthur and Emma Eva (Weber) Baldinger. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII from 1944 to 1946. Married Mildred Viola Mueller on Dec. 29, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dearborn, Mich. Services were April 18 at Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church in Seward. Inurnment will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Seward. Gary Allen BRUNS, 57, died April 13, 2008, in Seward. Born July 25, 1950, in Seward to Elmer and Viola (Pflughaupt) Bruns. Married Rita Taylor on May 3, 1975, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita, Iowa. Preceded in death by father Elmer Bruns.
