WAYNE, Neb. -- Ione ROEBER, 91, of Wayne died Mar 31, 2008.
Services at Immanuel Lutheran Church, northeast of Wayne. 
Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.  

FORDYCE, Neb. -- Kathy STEFFEN, 58, of Fordyce died Mar 30, 2008, from 
injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Fordyce. Services at St. Rose 
of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton, Neb. Burial in Crofton Cemetery. Arr. are 
under the direction of Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. 

PONCA, Neb. -- Lyle E. "Buck" CALVERT, 84, of Ponca died Mar 29, 2008
at his residence following a lengthy illness. Services at St. Joseph Catholic 
Church in Ponca. Burial will be in South Creek Cemetery, with military rites 
conducted by the American Legion Chappelle Post 117. Born Feb. 28, 1924, 
in Newcastle, Neb., the son of Harry and Edith (Reichardt) Calvert. 
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in the South Pacific.
Married Charlotte R. Mahon on May 19, 1947, in Sioux City. She died 
Jan. 5, 2006 in Ponca. Preceded in death by his parents; his 
wife, Charlotte; and a sister, Janice.

BANCROFT, Neb. -- Hazel Ethel GATZEMEYER, 95, of Bancroft died Mar 29, 2008.
Services at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bancroft. Burial in Holy Cross Catholic 
Cemetery. Arr. are under the direction of Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Neb. 

FORDYCE, Neb. -- Edward J. EICKOFF, 74, of Aquanga, Calif., formerly of 
Fordyce, died Mar 10, 2008 in Hemet, CA. Services at St. John the Baptist

LAURENS, Iowa -- Joe H. HALTERMAN, 93, of Laurens died Mar 31, 2008
in Mesa, Ariz. Services at United Methodist Church in Laurens. Burial in 
Laurens Cemetery. Arr. by Smith-Loterbour-Powers Funeral Home in Laurens.
Joe Henry Halterman was born Oct. 11, 1914, in Dawson, Neb., the son of 
Miles Albert and Maude Oakey (Dappen) Halterman. In June 1941, he enlisted 
in the U.S. Army. On June 12, 1942, he married Maxine Bryan of Sergeant Bluff 
at the Presidio of San Francisco Chapel. Preceded in death by his parents; his 
wife, Maxine; and a sister, Viola.

WALTHILL, Neb. -- Curtis Ray PIPER, 71, of Centralia, Wash., formerly of 
Walthill, passed away March 28, 2008, following a long battle with cancer.
Per his wishes, the body was cremated. Memorial services will be at a 
later date. Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Walthill, to Lawrence and Evelyn (Sailors) 
Piper. Married Nancy Oviatt in 1958, in Allen, Neb. He was preceded in death 
by his parents; and a nephew, Matthew Fabry. 

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Thelma B. BARG, 77, of South Sioux City died 
April 12, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital. Services at Glad Tidings Lighthouse. 
Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, rural Homer, Neb. Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. 

Harold M. BRYNGELSON, 96, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City died April 10, 2008
in Omaha. Memorial services are scheduled for this summer. Notice will follow at 
that time. Arrangements are under the direction of The Arbor Society in Omaha.
Born July 13, 1911, in Wisner, Neb., the son of Andrew and Selma (Marx) Bryngelson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleola.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Eva M. LUKKEN, 87, of Papillion, Neb., formerly of South 
Sioux City, passed away April 16, 2008. Services at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home 
in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Ponca City Cemetery, Ponca, Neb. Born 
Aug. 24, 1920, in Ponca, Neb., the daughter of William and Lizzy (Peters) Domsch. 
Married Amos H. "Sonny" Lukken on Mar 11, 1941, in Ponca. Preceded in death by 
her parents; her husband, Amos "Sonny" on June 18, 1997 in Sioux City; a 
son, Bill; and four brothers. 

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Marjorie F. Camerer WINCHESTER, 85, of South Sioux City 
died April 19, 2008. Services at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Burial in Memorial Park 
Cemetery. 

Marjorie A. MISCHKE, 91, of Sioux City, formerly of Crofton, Neb., died

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- M. Jean TRUDELL, 65, of South Sioux City died 
April 17, 2008, at her residence following a brief illness with cancer.
Services at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dakota City 
Cemetery. Born June 23, 1942, in Homer, Neb., the daughter of 
William R. and Mary E. (Shatka) Wiseman. Married Edward L. Trudell 
in 1966. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward, who 
passed away on July 12, 1999, in South Sioux City; her son, Patrick 
Barclay; and a sister, Ina Sevier.

Jane L. SANDERS, 86, formerly of Sioux City, died April 19, 2008, in Lincoln, Neb.
Services at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel. 

CROFTON, Neb. -- Richard F. PEITZ, 81, of Crofton died April 13, 2008 
in Yankton, S.D. Services at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee, NE. 
Burial in St. Boniface Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Crofton 
American Legion Post 128. 

WALTHILL, Neb. -- Ardys Marie HUBER, 67, of Walthill passed away April 12, 2008
in Winnebago, NE. Memorial services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Walthill. 
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Born May 17, 1940, in Watertown, S.D., the 
daughter of M.S. "Scotty" and Gladys M. (Comeau) Gunn. Married Elmer Huber on 
May 17, 1986, in Sioux City. Preceded in death by her father; and an infant 
son, Shawn. 

Ernest F. WILLMS, 96, of Coleridge died April 12, 2008 in Coleridge, NE.
Services April 17, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge. Burial 
in Coleridge City Cemetery. Born June 14, 1911, in Coleridge, to Carl and 
Etta (Frerichs) Willms. Married Alice M. Strivens on Oct. 20, 1931, in 
Coleridge. She died June 3, 1997, at the age of 84 years. Preceded in 
death by his parents; his wife, Alice; a son-in-law, William Haws; two 
brothers, William and baby Willms; and four sisters, Lena Willms, Lillie 
Hanratty, Anne Willms and Minnie Hansen.

Arlene C. "Rusty" BRINKER, 68, of Bellevue, Neb., formerly of Primghar
died April 12, 2008. Services at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Primghar. 
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction 
of Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar.
