Minnie Alice SMITH was born in Palisade, Neb., in 1931. 
She passed away on Mar 25, 2008, in San Angelo, Texas.
Survived by her husband, a son and a daughter, four 
grandsons, one granddaughter, two great grandchildren, 
one brother and two sisters. A life celebration service 
will be held at a later date. Arr. are by Shaffer Funeral Home. 

Floyd Kenneth CARMAN was born Mar 27, 1926, on a farm near 
Kearney, Neb., to Harry J. and Clara (Hitzelburger) Carman.
Entered the U.S. Army and served in the Army Artillery 41st 
Division of the 146th Field Artillery Battalion during the Pacific 
Theatre of WWII. Married Freeda Thomas and had three 
children, Jack, Jim and Diane, were born. He died Mar 26, 2008. 
He was 81 years of age. Preceded in death by his parents; wife 
Freeda; brothers Marlin and Larry and sister Judy. Graveside 
inurnment services were held April 1, 2008 at Fort McPherson 
National Cemetery at Maxwell, Neb.

Frances Elizabeth LeMAY passed away Mar 20, 2008, at Wauneta, Neb. 
She was 84 years of age. Born Feb. 29, 1924, at Oskaloosa, Iowa, the 
daughter of William T. and Maud E. (Barrett) Doud. On April 6, 1940, she 
married Alfred LeMay in Ottumwa, Iowa. Preceded in death by her 
husband, Alfred; her parents; son Gary; brother Dick Doud, sister 
Eva Doud and grandson Gary-Dan Lujan. Graveside inurnment services 
were held Mar 25 at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta. 

Johnnie D. GAGE, of Mexico, Mo., died Mar 6, 2008 in Mexico.
Born on Jan. 31, 1922, in Hayes Co., Nebraska to Asahel C. and 
Nettie (Birdsall) Gage. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. before 
joining the Navy in 1942. Married Helen Stuart of Mexico, Mo., June 19, 1949. 
He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services were Mar 8, 2008 
at the Mexico United Methodist Church with inurnment at Elmwood Cemetery 
at Mexico, Mo. 

Rawleyce Ionne RIFE of Stratton, Neb., died April 8, 2008, in McCook, NE
at the age of 79. Born Nov. 7, 1928, in the Eden Precinct north of Stratton 
in Hitchcock Co, NE, to Guy F. and Florence H. (Long) West. In 1953, 
married Daniel J. Rife at Cheyenne, Wyo., and they settled on the family 
farm west of Stratton. Preceding her in death were her parents, Guy and 
Florence West; brother Arwyn West; granddaughter Larrissa Dawn Rife; 
brothers-in-law Richard May and Bob Dahnke; and great nephew Kyle May.
Memorial services were held April 12, 2008, at the Community United 
Methodist Church. A private family interment took place at Rose Hill 
Cemetery prior to the services. Arr. by Forch Funeral Chapel of Stratton. 

Irma I. RUETER, 88, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of North Platte and 
Hayes Co, NE died April 10, 2008, in Lincoln. Irma (Bricker) Rueter was 
born Nov. 3, 1919, in Crete, Neb., to Herbert and Lulu (Yant) Bricker.
On April 15, 1941, married Alvin E. Rueter. Alvin died Mar 9, 2005.
Preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Rueter, her parents, two 
brothers, six sisters and two great grandsons Geoffrey and Brayden 
Burklund. Funeral services were held April 14, 2008, at Carpenter 
Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Interment was held April 14, 2008, 
at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta. 

Ivan C. BRUNKHORST, 83, died April 1, 2008, in Kearney, NE. Born 
Feb. 10, 1925 to Ernest and Sophia (Haarberg) Brunkhorst in Sharon Springs, KS. 
On Aug. 25, 1948, married Lorene Duhm at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauneta. 
Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Sophia Brunkhorst; his wife, Lorene 
Brunkhorst; an infant son; brother Ansel Brunkhorst and sister Eulene Busking.
Funeral services were held April 5, 2008, at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, Neb., with Forch Funeral Chapel 
of Benkelman and Stratton in charge of arrangements.
