Wauneta Breeze Aug 2008 Roy Jean RIDLEN, 76, died July 30, 2008, in Imperial, Neb. Born June 22, 1932 to J. Pearl and Ethel (Roll) Ridlen on a farm northeast of Imperial. Entered the Army in 1953, serving his time in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He moved to Palisade, Neb., in 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Dow; two brothers, Lee Ridlen and Paul Ridlen; brothers-in-law Kenneth Dow, Russell Harrah, Quentin Johnson, George Mader and Earl Landrus. Funeral services were held Aug. 4, 2008,at the Hamlet Union Church, Hamlet, Neb. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post #318, VFW Post #7089 and AM Vets Post #14, Palisade, Neb. Interment followed at the Palisade Cemetery, Palisade. June Marie COX was born on June 17, 1925, near Wauneta, Neb., to Ward and Grace (DeGarmo) Walling. Married Robert L. Cox on Aug. 2, 1941, in Goodland, Kan. They settled five miles northeast of Wauneta, where they farmed for many years. June died July 30, 2008, Imperial, Neb. She was 83 years of age. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; sisters Nellie Haarberg, Peggy Haarberg, Gladys Grose and Irene Gerih; brothers Ward Walling Jr. and Robert Walling. Funeral services were held Aug. 2, 2008 at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta. Interment followed at the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta. Twyla Mae SHOEMAKER, 82, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008 in Lincoln, Neb. She was born in Hamlet, Neb., on July 19, 1926 to Ruby D. and Orval H. Shoemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and her children, Kelly and Kristy Nordhausen.
