Plattsmouth Journal Dec 2008 Marie L. DILL, age 94, of South Bend died Dec. 14, 2008, in Louisville. She was born June 21, 1914, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Jens and Fannie (Graham) Christensen. Marie obtained a teaching certificate from Nebraska Central College in Central City. She and Bernard Dill were married in Central City on July 11, 1937. She was preceded in death by husband, Bernard B. Dill; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Lester Watland; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Margaret Christensen, all formerly of Taylor; brother-in-law, Vernon Dill. Private family services are to be held with inurnment at South Bend Cemetery. Marcy Mortuary, Ashland Lorraine M. KECKLER, 86, of Louisville died Dec. 12, 2008. She was born July 17, 1922, in Irvington to Rudolph A. and Zulma (Decock) Vervaecke. On Jan. 19, 1946, she married Herbert G. Keckler in Plattsmouth. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; and brother, Maurice. Funeral service: Dec. 16, at Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Chapel, Louisville. Cemetery: Glendale Cemetery Arthur Preston “Art” TAYLOR Jr., age 79, of Osage Beach, Mo., passed away Dec. 3, 2008. He was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Sutton, to Arthur P. Sr. and Lillian (Newham) Taylor. Art graduated from Weeping Water High School in 1948 in Weeping Water. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Art married Joan Smith in 1951 in Murray. She preceded him in death in 1958, along with an unborn child and his daughter, Teresa Diane Taylor. In 1960 in Omaha, he married Betty Billet. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Nehawka. Jack Conrad BROOKHOUSER, 85, of Plattsmouth died Dec. 10, 2008. He was born Mar 22, 1923, in Ewing to John Henry and Ella Maude (Conrad) Brookhouser. After graduating from high school, he moved to Plattsmouth, where he met and married Phyllis Jean Brown in Sept 1947, and had been here since. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis J. Brookhouser; brother, Robert C. Brookhouser; and sister, Joyce Schaefer. Memorial service: Dec. 15, at Nebraska Masonic Home Chapel, Plattsmouth. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha. Lloyd R. ZEORIAN, 89, of Papillion, passed away in Omaha on Dec. 7, 2008. Lloyd was born on July 27, 1919, at rural Springfield, to Wm. and Clarice (Davis) Zeorian. In 1942 Lloyd entered the U. S. Army and served in Co F in the 130th Infantry. He attained the rank of Technical Sgt. On July 15, 1946 he married Ruth Wasielewski. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Doris, and her husband Orman Zepp. Elizabeth A. “Betty” KNAUP, 70, of Falls City died Dec. 7, 2008. She was born Oct. 7, 1938, at Nebraska City to the late Vantine A. and Dorothea (Mason) James. On Sept. 28, 1963, she married Rodney F. Knaup at Nebraska City. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services: Dec. 12, at First Christian Church, Falls City. Interment is in Steele Cemetery, Falls City. Paul MARS of Beaver Lake passed away Dec. 7, 2008, at the age of 70. Born Jan. 16, 1938, in Drayton, S.D., to the Rev. Arne Herbert and Frances Evelyn (Jacobson) Mars. Married Charlotte A. Easterlund on Sept. 12, 1959 in Edina, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service: Dec. 18, at Murray Presbyterian Church in Murray. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date. Bernice LINDSEY, 95, of Nehawka died Dec. 5, 2008 in Nebraska City. She was born April 28, 1913, in Nehawka to Frank and Thelma (Schroeten) Hogue. On June 5, 1936, she married Jack Lindsey in Omaha. Funeral service: Dec. 9, at Nehawka United Methodist Church. Cemetery: Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Nehawka. Caroline Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM, 76, of Plattsmouth died Nov. 30, 2008 in Omaha. She was born Feb. 25, 1932, in Eagle Butte, S.D., to Jacob “Jack” and Lena (Miller) Niegel. On Aug. 22, 1953, she married Cavil Leon “Red” Cunningham in Rapid City, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cavil “Red” Cunningham; brother, Raymond Niegel; and sister, Irene Laycock. Funeral mass: Dec. 3, at Church of the Holy Spirit, Plattsmouth. Final resting place: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Plattsmouth. Debra Mae KAFFENBERGER, 48, of Plattsmouth died Nov. 29, 2008 in Papillion. She was born Feb. 4, 1960, in Omaha to Larry Wayne and Betty Jean (Piper) Robbins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Madeline Piper, Orville and Irene Robbins; and cousin, Kasey Piper. Memorial service: Dec. 4, at Roby Funeral Home, Plattsmouth. Family is keeping cremains. Sheila E. PARO, 70, of Plattsmouth died Nov. 30, 2008 in Omaha. She was born July 30, 1938, to Mr. and Mrs. John Whyte. On Aug. 16, 1958, she married Bill Paro in Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, and their spouses.
