Helen D. Lincoln JOHNSON, 95, of Central City, formerly of Bradshaw and 
Polk, died on Feb 3, 2008. Funeral services were Feb 6, 2008 at the Immanuel 
Lutheran Church in Polk. Interment was in the Plainfield Cemetery near Bradshaw. 
Solt Funeral Home of Polk was in charge of the arrangements. Preceded in death 
by her first husband, Melvin Lincoln, and by her second husband, Milfred Johnson; 
her parents; two brothers – Milton and Herman Johnson; and one sister – Ruth Shenk.

Marilyn Marjorie JOHNSON, age 64 of Osceola, NE, died on Jan 26, 2008 from cancer.
A celebration of life memorial service was held Jan 29, 2008 at St. Paul Lutheran 
Church in Osceola, NE. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. 
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg was in charge of arrangements.
Preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Betty Scott. 

LaVern “Sonny” PENSICK, age 76, of Columbus, died Jan 27, 2008 at his home in 
Columbus. Funeral services Jan 31, 2008 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. 
Burial with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard in 
St. Bonaventure Cemetery. McKown Funeral Home in Columbus in charge of 
arrangements. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Maule. 

Ronald L. BAKER, age 71, of Stromsburg, NE, died February 7, 2008 in Lincoln, NE.
Funeral services were Feb 11, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Stromsburg. 
Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg 
and Osceola was in charge of arrangements. Preceded in death by his parents, 
C. Burdette and Mildred Baker, and one infant daughter Michele Baker.

Roy M. NUTTELMAN, age 82, of Stromsburg, NE, died Feb 11, 2008 in Osceola.
Funeral services were Feb 14, 2008 at Evangelical Covenant Church in Stromsburg.  
Interment was in the Gresham Cemetery. Preceded in death by his parents Charles 
and Clara Nuttelman; four brothers, William, Floyd, Harold and Donald; three 
sisters, Hilda Peters, Esther Kopke and Florence Nuttelman.

Ruby L. LEWIS, age 95, of Osceola, Nebraska, died Feb 10, 2008.
Funeral services were Feb 13, 2008 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola. 
Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery. Survivors include two brothers 
Raymond (Helen) Donelson of York and Carol Donelson of Stromsburg, nieces, 
nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death 
by her parents Arthur and Esther Donelson; husband Ed; infant daughter 
Carolyn; sister, Mildred Donelson; brother Harlan; sisters-in-law Marion 
Donelson and Ruth Frances Donelson.

Mary E. FEESER, age 99, of Osceola, NE passed away Feb 5, 2008.
Funeral services were Feb 8, 2008 at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola, NE.  
Interment was in the Gresham Cemetery. Preceded in death by her parents 
Elmer and Daisy Walter, husband Guy, one brother and four sisters.

Sylvia J. JOHNSON, age  89, of Stromsburg, NE, died Feb 5, 2008.
Funeral services were Feb 9, 2008 at Salem Lutheran Church. Interment 
was in the Stromsburg Cemetery. Preceded in death by her parents Carl 
and Beda Fredrickson; husband Earl; infant daughter Barbara Jean Johnson; 
three sisters Myrtle Johnson, Opal Peterson, and Pearle Dailey; two brothers 
Ansel Fredrickson and Marvin Fredrickson.

Mildred B. CHUBB, age 85 of David City, passed away Feb 17, 2008. 
Funeral services were held on Fe 20, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 
in David City. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in David City. Chermok 
Funeral Home in David City was in charge of arrangements. Preceded in 
death by her parents; husband Glenn in 1997; son and daughter-in-law 
Duane and MaryLou Chubb; son-in-law Larry Sievert; brothers Jim, Joe, 
Adolph, and Laddie Svoboda; sisters Mary Cemper, Lucille Pleskac; 
brothers-in-law Ed Cemper, Emil Jakub, Jerry Pleskac, Bill Ponec; 
sisters-in-law Rose Svoboda, Loretta Svoboda, Rose Svoboda and Helen 
Svoboda; and inlaws Lee Roy and Frieda (Tager) Chubb. 

Elgin A. TONNIGES, 87, of rural Columbus, NE, died Feb 13, 2008, in David 
City, NE. Funeral services were held on Feb 16, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran 
Church in Columbus. Interment was in the Columbus Cemetery with military 
honors by The American Legion Honor Guard, Hartman Post 84. Gass Haney 
Funeral Home in Columbus was in charge of arrangements. Preceded in death 
by his parents Gustav and Clara Tonniges, and his sister Shirley Miller. 

Dorothy M. KOHTZ, 84, of Columbus formerly of the Hampton area, died 
in Columbus on Feb 15, 2008.  Funeral services were held at the Zion 
Evangelical Lutheran Church near Hampton. Interment was in the Zion 
Lutheran Church Cemetery. Solt Funeral Home in Central City was in 
charge of arrangements. Preceded in death by her husband, her 
parents, and two grandchildren.
