Lucile Elizabeth DUERR-GAIBLER, 93, died Feb. 6, 2008, in Seward, NE. Born May 28, 1914, in Omaha to Leslie and Irene (Flynn) Wright. On June 27, 1934, she married Fred Duerr in Seward. Following his death, she married Elmer Gaibler on Dec. 14, 1989, in North Platte. Preceded in death by husbands Fred Duerr and Elmer Gaibler; brother Leslie Wright; siblings and spouses Margaret and Jim Wells, Eugene and Esther Woods, Art and Evelyn Duerr, Elvin Duerr and Art and Velma Behrens. Services were Feb. 9, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Seward. Betty J. EARNEST, 79, Milford, died Feb. 5, 2008. Born Aug. 16, 1928, in Milford to Benjamin and Emma (Hermann) Earnest. Preceded in death by brother LaVern Earnest; sisters Geraldine Bruns and Maxine Stutzman; nephews James, Reginald, Claude and Wayne Stutzman; niece Beverly Wisehart; and brothers-in-law Harry Bruns and Wayne Stutzman. Born July 13, 1937, outside of Duquoin, Kan., to the Rev. Charles and Ruth (Wilson) Gray. On July 5, 1957, she married Larry Secor at the Missionary Church in Milford. On June 15, 1934 she married Norman Olston. Preceded in death by her husband Norman Olston; daughter Lola Lauree Welch; sisters Wilma Hewitt and Dorothy Moredock; and brothers David and Kenneth Lloyd, all of St. Louis, Mo. Born Feb. 6, 1922, in rural York to Ernest E. and Lula D. (Macoy) Mason. Was a 1940 graduate of York High School and served in WWII. On Aug. 17, 1942, he married Bernice Richardson in Phillipsburg, Kan. Preceded in death by infant son Terry Lee; infant daughter Linda Lou; brothers Floyd and Clarence Mason; and sisters Mildred Green and Ardith Luth. Services were held Feb. 15 at the Metz Chapel in York. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Irene Norma ROTH, 96, died Feb. 14, 2008, in Seward. Born July 3, 1911, on a farm north of Milford to John and Mattie (Erb) Schweitzer. On Dec. 21, 1933, she married Roy Roth. Preceded in death by husband Roy; son Richard; grandson Steven Adams; brothers Lee, Peter, John and Harry Schweitzer; and sisters Malinda Birky, Sadie Hostetler, Alice Saltzman and Katie Kremer. Services were held Feb. 18 at Bellwood Mennonite Church. Interment was in Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Lois Jean PETSKA, 83, died Feb. 8, 2008, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Born Dec. 4, 1924, in Seward to Louis Carl and Lydia Brinkmeyer. Married Richard J. Petska on Aug. 16, 1948, in Seward. Preceded in death by brother Bert Brinkmeyer. Born Oct. 9, 1931, in Beaver Crossing to Orville and Inez (Roach) Flanigan. On Dec. 9, 1952, she married Flynn Carlon Christenson at the St. John's Lutheran Church parsonage. Married Oscar George Ernst Prochnow at St. Paul's Church in rural York on Oct. 16, 1938. Preceded in death by husband Oscar; son Darrel; granddaughter Sara Jean Prochnow; son-in-law Noel Eberspacher; and brothers and sisters-in-law Ernst and Elinore Nienhueser, Amos and Erwin Nienhueser. Services were Feb. 22, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Seward. Frank E. ROBOTHAM, 86, died Feb. 20, 2008, in Milford, NE. Born Feb. 3, 1922, in Pleasant Dale to Harry Pliny and Etta Quiteria (Brown) Robotham. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received six medals, including the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, French Medal for Liberation and the Bronze and Silver Stars. On Aug. 10, 1949, he married Joanna Salvatora Gatto in Lincoln. Preceded in death by wife Joanna; brother Plin L. Robotham and nephew William Robotham. Services were Feb. 25 at United Methodist Church in Seward. Interment was at Seward Cemetery. Donald Dean ERKS, 64, died Feb. 19, 2008, in Pleasant Dale, NE. Born July 21, 1926, on the family farm between Seward and Garland. Served two years in the military in the last year of WWII and the occupation of Japan. He spent 17 1/2 months in the Philippines and Japan. On June 25, 1950 he married Joyce E. Meyer. The Rev. Zillig served in full-time Christian ministry for 28 years, serving in Arlington, Tecumseh, Plainview, Brunswick, Franklin and Riverton. Preceded in death by an infant brother; sisters and brothers-in-law Leona and Carl Westerhoff, Dorothy and Ray Flowerday, Charles Lyon and Ted Flowerday and niece Janice Preston. Services were Feb. 23 at Friedens United Church of Christ in Seward. Interment was at Seward Cemetery. Omer E. REETZ, 86, York, died Feb. 23, 2008, in York, NE. Born Nov. 28, 1921, in Thayer to Otto and Clara (Nolte) Reetz. On April 28, 1949, he married Mildred A. Steinmeyer in Wisner. Preceded in death by wife Mildred who died Feb. 22, 2008; brothers Otto Vern "Butch" and Victor Reetz and sisters Aurelia Scheele and Arlene Reetz.
