On Jan. 4, 1944, she married Walter W. Witzel in Papillion. Preceded in death by brothers John and Edwin Stanek; sister Alice Rerucha; and granddaughter Jennifer Grant. Services were Jan. 21, 2008 at Brainard United Methodist Church. Burial was at David City Cemetery. Richard H. GRUBAUGH, 90, David City, died Jan. 19, 2008. Born Nov. 18, 1917, in Lincoln to Roy and Anna (Havel) Grubaugh. On Aug. 20, 1940, he married Carol Rolofson in Wahoo. Preceded in death by wife Carol; daughter and son-in-law Dorothy and George Romshek Jr.; two grandsons; brothers and sister-in-law Marv Grubaugh and Al and Bess Grubaugh; sister and brother-in-law Marie and Florence "Oz" Georlinger; great-grandson Blake Svoboda; and great-great grandson Max Seager. Services Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Walter A. SCHMITT, 94, Utica, died Jan. 18, 2008, in Lincoln. Born Aug. 19, 1913, in Gresham to Adam and Anna (Kuhnl) Schmitt. Services Jan. 23, 2008 at Metz Chapel in York, NE. His ashes will be interred at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Gresham at a later date. Anna J. RERUCHA, 89, David City, died Jan. 17, 2008. Born April 11, 1918, in Appleton to Adolph and Antonia (Svoboda) Samek. On Sept. 14, 1946, she married John J. Rerucha at Assumption Catholic Church in Appleton, NE. Preceded in death by brother Bill Samek; and sisters Rose Kozisek and Martha Piitz. Services were Jan. 22, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Burial was at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Bruno. Bernece C. WRIGHT, 86, Seward, NE died Jan. 20, 2008. Born Sept. 29, 1921, on a farm near Utica to Ernest and Emma (Krieser) Cain. Preceded in death by husband Thomas W. Wright; brothers Elmer, Loren and Linford Cain; and sisters Muriel Potts, Mable Thieman, Dorothy Miller and Betty Sampson. Services Jan. 24, 2008 at Seward United Methodist Church.
