Married William Kozisek in 1929 and then she married Peter Schmit in 1961. Preceded in death by her husbands; three grandsons, Billy Kozisek; infant twins, Mark and Mike Kozisek; one granddaughter, Karen Bredahl; two infant brothers; a brother, Fritz Husak; two sisters, Blanche Beckius Rohs and Tillie Stevens; step-son, Eugene Schmit; step-daughter, Dorothy Moyer and one step-grandson, Cory Kallenbach. Mass of Christian Burial held May 28, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Burial at St. Anthony's Cemetery at Bruno. Chermok Funeral Home of David City is in charge of the arrangements. LINCOLN - Donald O. CAMERON, 94, of Lincoln, died May 27, 2008. He was born Dec. 11, 1913 in Ceresco to Ross and Hulda (Oberg) Cameron. He farmed near Ceresco. He was preceded in death by his wives, Ardith and Wilma; three sisters; three brothers, son-in-law, Darrell Hagaman; and step-son-in-law, Larry Samuelson. Funeral services held May 31, 2008 at Ceresco United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Waverly. FREMONT - James J. JIROVSKY, 80, of Fremont, died May 26, 2008 at his home. Born on Oct. 1 1927, to James and Mary (Kunasek) Jirvosky in Cedar Bluffs. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII from Jan. 3, 1946 until July 8, 1946. He married Elaine M. Pagels on Sept. 29, 1951 in Council Bluffs. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ann Suda. Burial was at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont with military graveside services conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW Post 854 and American Legion Post 20. WAHOO - Phyllis LAHMANN, 84, of Wahoo, died May 26, 2008. Born Feb. 3, 1924 in Whangarei, New Zealand. She met Henry Bernard Lahmann, in New Zealand during WWII. Following the war, they moved to the United States and were married in Waukenne, Kan. on Feb. 13, 1947. Preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Maxine Fisher; five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Funeral services were held May 30, 2008 at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Interment was at Sunrise Cemetery. WESTON - Jessica Lynn MACHIN, 36, of Weston, died May 29, 2008 in Omaha. She was born May 16, 1972, to William R. and Debra (Snyder) Winchell in Omaha. Preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward Snyder and sister, Rebecca Rae Winchell. Funeral services June 5, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Wahoo. Interment will be at Indian Mound Cemetery in Ithaca. FREMONT - Dianne L. PETRZELKA, 57, of Fremont, died May 31, 2008. Born March 30, 1951 to Rudolph and Marie (Hampl) Odvody in Wahoo. Married Reuben "Pete" Petrzelka on July 1, 1970 in Edsel, Scotland. Her parents preceded her in death. Funeral service held June 4 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife; and two brothers, Adrian and Anton Jr. ANAHEIM, Calif. - Hazel Anna JANECEK, 97, of Anaheim, Calif. died May 21, 2008. Born Sept. 7, 1910, to Matt and Ida Moody at Morse Bluff. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; daughter, Donna Gratt; sisters, Mildred Nichelson and Iona Croshaw; and brothers, Melvin and Randall Moody. YUTAN - Beverly Ann JOHNSON, 74, of Yutan, died May 31, 2008 at her home near Yutan. Born on Dec. 17, 1933 to George and Velma (Culp) Hays in Arapahoe. Married Herman Johnson on July 2, 1955 at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Falls City. Her parents, her stepfather and an infant brother, Terry, preceded her in death. Married Mildred Luree Darland on Aug. 6, 1938 in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sioux City, IA. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alvin, Stanley and Edwin Swartz; and two sisters, Bessie Simanek and Marie Sloup; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Lambert. Services were held May 22, 2008. She taught in various small towns, including rural Prague, Beatrice, Hoskins and Stanton. Married Henry Clinch in Beatrice in 1947. Her husband died in 1976. Preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Mary Clinch; daughter-in-law, Kay Clinch; brothers and sister-in-law, Milton and Marie Sloup and Frank Sloup; sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Louis Noha; brother-in-law, Ted Karabatsos; and grandson, Ryan Clinch. Funeral held June 19, 2008 at the American Lutheran Church in Ashland. Private interment held at the Ashland Cemetery in Ashland FREMONT - Lois J. McMAHAN, 73, of Fremont, died June 13, 2008. Born Dec. 11, 1934 to Clarence and Vernie (Harms) Stoltenberg near Leshara. Married Calvin J.L. McMahan on Nov. 20, 1953 in Missouri. Her parents and her husband preceded her in death. Funeral held June 17 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. ASHLAND - Albert J. "Corky" ROBERTS, 94, of Ashland, died June 15, 2008. Born Dec. 7, 1913 in Rulo to Albert G. and Susie (Johnson) Roberts. On Nov. 14, 1941, he married Margaret Lou Martin in Rockport, Mo. He entered the Army Air Force on Oct. 27, 1942 and served in the Aleutian Islands. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 13, 1945. His wife and many brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Graveside services held June 19, 2008 at the Ashland Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 129. WAHOO - Richard Melvin "Rick" LARSEN, 75, of Wahoo, died June 17, 2008 at his home. Born Aug. 5, 1932 to Walter and Nora (Larson) Larsen at the family's home in Wahoo. He graduated from Wahoo High School in 1950. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in Jan. of 1953 and served as Supply Clerk and Acting Supply Sergeant in Germany during the Korean War. In Oct 1955, he married Marjorie Worent of Beatrice. She died in March of 1967. On June 16, 1968, he married Mary Lou Morrow of Tekamah at the First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Karen; brother, Robert; sister, Helen; first wife; great-grandson, Elijah, and great-granddaughter, Lily. Funeral service was held June 21 at the Wahoo Community Church. Interment was at Sunrise Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors conducted by Wahoo V.F.W. Post 4502 and Wahoo American Legion Post 82. A memorial service for Wilber L. MANSKE of rural Greenwood was held June 19 at Lincoln Berean Church. Manske, 75, died June 14, 2008. Born in rural Ceresco to Ernest and Clara Manske, he was a life long area farmer. He was preceded in death by parents. Private interment was held before the service. WAHOO - Marian A. MINERS, 85, of Wahoo, died June 18, 2008. Born July 18, 1922, to Joachim and Anna (Kuhr) Hollst in Yutan. On Aug. 26, 1941 she married Richard Miners in Yutan. Preceded in death by her husband; son, Richard L. Miners; and sister, Emma Johnson; half-brothers, Hans Hollst and Henry Hollst, and half-sister, Elsie Karloff. Funeral services were held June 20 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yutan. Interment was at Hollst Lawn Cemetery in Yutan. CEDAR BLUFFS - Norman G. STAAB, 76, died June 22 at his home. Born on Jan. 6, 1932 to Arthur and Alta (Swancutt) Staab in Berwyn. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He later served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Married Christina "Chris" (Wotipka) Reznicek on May 3, 1986 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon. Preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Johnny, Glenn, Robert, Walter and Herbert Staab. Funeral service held June 26, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery at Cedar Bluffs. PRAGUE - Francis E. TOMEK, 72, of Prague died June 19, 2008 in Lincoln. Born on June 5, 1936, to Frank and Elsie (Roh) Tomek. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years. His parents preceded him in death. Mass of Christian Burial was held June 23, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague.
