Services were June 7, 2008, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. Interment was at Utica Cemetery. Charles R. NELSON, 31, Lincoln, died June 3, 2008. Services were June 6, 2008, at Butherus-Maser & Love Funeral Home in Lincoln. Laura MEYER, 96, died May 24, 2008, in Lancaster, CA. Born May 4, 1912, in Beaver Crossing to Karl and Mary Krieser. She graduated in 1933 as a registered nurse and married John Meyer in May 1936, in Utica. Services were June 7, 2008, at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Eunice "Jean" (Fiedler) KOVAR, 70, died June 5, 2008, at her home near Crete. Born on July 27, 1937, near Valparaiso to Leon and Antonette (Matulka) Fiedler. Married Cyrill H. Kovar Aug. 9, 1955. Preceded in death by parents Leon and Antonette Fiedler. Services were June 10, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Denton, NE. Interment was at Seward Cemetery. Donald Roy HEMPHILL, 87, died June 1, 2008 in Lincoln. Born Aug. 28, 1920, in Utica to Roy J. and Jessie Ellen (Pickering) Hemphill. Joined the 8th Air Force in 1942, stationed in England during WWII. Married Norma Jean Pierce Oct. 25, 1945. Preceded in death by daughter Julie Hemphill; brothers and sister-in-law Dorwin Hemphill and Dale and Deloris Hemphill; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lucille and Ed Widawski. Services were June 5, 2008, at Utica United Methodist Church. Interment was at Seward Cemetery with full military honors by Utica American Legion Post 49. Leroy STUTZMAN, 82, died June 5, 2008, at his home near Dorchester. Born Dec. 30, 1925, near Milford to Harve and Jessie (Schlegel) Stutzman. In 1950, he joined the US Army. Married Eunice Troyer on Sept. 2, 1951, in Seward. Preceded in death by brothers Harold, Danny and Walter Stutzman and sisters Betty Troyer and Grace Stutzman. Services were June 7, 2008 at Milford Mennonite Church. Burial was at Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Geraldine "Jeri" MASON, 65, York, died June 14, 2008, in Lincoln. Born Oct. 13, 1942, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Raymond and Ethel (Joy) Heiden. Moved to Nebraska at the age of two and lived on a farm north of York. Married James Mason Sept. 30, 1962, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Preceded in death by her parents; step-father Norman B. Fintel and her grandparents. Services June 18, 2008, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Burial at St. Paul Cemetery, north of York. Lyle Dean KOPKE, 63, Garrison, died June 12, 2008, at his residence. Born Nov. 6, 1944 in Garrison to John and Alice (Lange) Kopke. His mother died when he was 14 and he lived with his father until his death in 1944. Preceded in death by his parents and aunts and uncles. Survivors include uncle Edwin Kopke, Rising City; aunts Hilda and Dorothy Voss, Seward; and 17 cousins. Services were June 16, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Shelley S. O'MEARA, 49, died June 16, 2008, in Des Moines, Iowa. Born May 6, 1959, in Lincoln, and grew up in Seward. In 1993, she married Michael O'Meara in Indianola, Iowa. Services were June 20, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola, Iowa. Burial was at the I.O.O.F Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Lincoln. Francis E. TOMEK, 72, Prague, died June 19, 2008, in Lincoln. Born June 5, 1936, in Prague to Frank and Elsie (Roh) Tomek. Graduated from Prague High School and served in the U. S. Navy for 20 years. Preceded in death by his parents. Services were June 23, 2008, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague. Burial was at St. John's Cemetery in Prague with military honors provided by American Legion Post 254. Joann Marie COLLIER, 72, died June 16, 2008, in Lincoln. Born Nov. 3, 1935, in Lincoln to John and O'Linda (Willman) Collier. Preceded in death by brother LeRoy Collier; sister Jacqueline Ruth Adams; and cousin Jerry Starcher. Survivors include nephew and spouse Gary and Gwen Townsend, Lincoln; niece and spouse Cheryl Fisher and Frank Wright, Harvey's Lake, Penn.; and cousins. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Okla. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorials Gardens in Oklahoma City. Marjorie Jean MILLER, 69, died June 16, 2008, in Lincoln. Born on Oct. 18, 1938, north of Ord to Clifford and Ruth (Holloway) Goff. She taught music in Helier, Ky., Bartlett, Columbus, Red Bird Mission, Ky., Fosston, Minn., and O'Neil. She also gave private piano and vocal lessons. She married Jim Miller on Dec. 28, 1968, in Burwell. Preceded in death by brother Floyd Goff and nephew Jim Goff.
