Ervin H. SCHMIDT, 93, of Beemer, formerly of Pender, died Sept. 30, 2008 
in Beemer. Funeral services were Oct. 4, 2008, at St. John's Lutheran 
Church, rural Pender. Interment was in the Beemer Cemetery.

Memorial services for Ernest (Mac) Laverne McMURTRY were Oct. 6, 2008
at the Evangelical Free Church in Oakland. Burial in the Craig Cemetery
with Military Honors by the Ryan VFW Post No. 5543 and American Legion 
Post No. 46. He died Oct. 1, 2008, in Omaha, at the age of 77 years.

Julia Anna SCHLICHTING, 92, of Grand Island, died Sept. 30, 2008. 
Services were Oct. 4, 2008, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church at Hooper
with burial in the Hooper Cemetery.

Randall Charles PUTMAN, 48, Gretna, formerly of North Platte, died 
on Oct. 2, 2008. Funeral services were Oct. 6, 2008, at First Christian Church. 

Kenneth Rudolph GREVE, died on Sept. 28, 2008. Celebration of life 
Oct. 1, 2008, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mesa, Ariz. 

Catherine (Moodie) WILLIAMS, 97, of St. Paul, Minn., died on
Sept. 12, 2008, St. Paul. Interment will be at Mt. Hope 
Cemetery, West Point, at 2 p.m. on Nov. 29, 2008.

Leon W. THOMPSON, 92, died on Oct. 7, 2008, in Papillion. 
Leon was born April 10, 1916, in Wisner, to Morton and Elsie 
(Schneider) Thompson. He married Frances C. Radler of 
West Point. 

Agnes RUPPRECHT, 82, of Clarkson, died Oct. 12, 2008, at her 
rural Clarkson home. Mass of Christian burial Oct. 16, 2008
at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson. 
Burial will be in the Clarkson Catholic Cemetery.

Victor THROENER, 56, Norfolk, formerly of Dodge, died Oct. 16, 2008. 
Funeral services were Oct. 20, 2008, at St. Boniface Catholic 
Church, Monterey, rural West Point. Burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Kay and Tim 
Hegarty of Dodge.

Sophie A. ORTMEIER, 87, of rural West Point, died Oct. 20, 2008 in Dodge.
Mass of Christian burial Oct. 23, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in 
West Point. Rev. Paul Ortmeier will officiate with burial at St. Michael's 
Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Ortmeier of Parkview 
Home Dodge; sons, Rev. Paul Ortmeier of Lyons, and Kenneth Ortmeier 
of West Point; and a brother, Anton A. Kreikemeier of Parkview 
Home Dodge. 

Leo A. KAUP, 94, of West Point, died Oct. 15, 2008. Mass of Christian 
burial was Oct. 20, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point. 
Burial was at St. Michael's Cemetery. 

Ethel W. ENGLISH, 88, of Pender, died on Oct. 20, 2008. Funeral 
services Oct. 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church 
in Pender. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church 
Cemetery in Pender.

Funeral services for Velma M. FEYERHERM, age 86 of West Point, were 
held Oct. 27, 2008, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. Burial was 
in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beemer. Velma died on 
Oct. 22, 2008, at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer.
Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
