She was born Aug. 23, 1923, to Jerry J. and Anna (Podany) Lodl on a farm north of Clarkson. She worked for the Union Pacific Railroad's Wyoming and Nebraska Divisions for 30 years. She married Frank B. Helman on Sept. 9, 1952, at St. John's Catholic Church in Howells. Preceded in death by her husband Frank; and sister, Adella Yonda. Service was Nov. 19, 2009, at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. Burial was at the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Brainard. Floyd E." Butch" HOBBS, 65, died Nov. 18, 2009, at his home in Lincoln. He was born Nov. 20, 1943, at Seward to John "Lawrence" and Ida Belle (Dey) Hobbs. In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two years in Vietnam. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Ida Hobbs; brothers Gerald and Dale Hobbs; sister Viola Hartman; and brother-in-law Gerald Hascall. Service was Nov. 23, 2009, at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward. Interment was at Ulysses Township Cemetery, Ulysses, with full military honors. Ruth Marie COOPER, 92, died Nov. 21, 2009, at Seward. She was born Sept. 1, 1917, at Seward to Cloyd and Marie (Jenkins) Cooper. She worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., during WWII. Survivors include her cousins. Service Nov. 25, 2009, at Zabka Funeral Home Chapel, Seward. Interment will be at Utica Cemetery, Utica. Marjorie L. DANEKAS, 78, died Nov, 22, 2009, Milford. She was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Milford to William and Evangeline (Pariset) Burkey. On Sept. 2, 1952, she married John C. Danekas in Lincoln. Preceded in death by her husband John; and son John. Lucille was born Dec. 4, 1932, in Garrison to Joseph and Helen (Mashek) Sloup. On April 30, 1955, she married Harold E. Speicher at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Seward. Service was Nov. 23, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City. Burial was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, David City. Eileen E. KLUNDT, 81, Waco, died Nov. 17, 2009, at Stromsburg. She was born Mar 29, 1928, in rural York County to Charles and Genevieve (Helsing) Christian. She married Otto Klundt on April 27, 1946, at Belleville, Kan. Preceded in death by her twin sister Imogene; and sister LaVonne. Service was Nov. 21, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in York. Burial was at Utica Cemetery. Barbara J. "Bobbi" HOLLING-MAYHEW, 40, Ulysses, died Nov. 15, 2009 at Seward. She was born July 28, 1969, at Omaha to Jerald C. and Julie M. (Schwaninger) Holling. She married Rick Mayhew on Mar 14, 1998, at Zion Lutheran Church, Omaha. Preceded in death by her parents Jerald C. and Julie M. (Schwaninger) Holling. Service will be a private family service. The Rev. F. Dale HOSTETLER, 85, died Nov. 14, 2009, at his home in Milford. The Rev. Hostetler was born Aug. 25, 1924, on a farm southeast of Beaver Crossing to Ivan and Emma (Burkey) Hostetler. On Feb. 8, 1944, he married Vivien V. Schweitzer at Broken Bow. The Rev. Hostetler was preceded in death by his sister Lucille Shetler; brother-in-law Royden Schweitzer; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doris and Blaine Brt. Service was Nov. 17, 2009, at West Fairview Mennonite Church, rural Beaver Crossing. Interment was at the church cemetery. Elverna Marie BAACK, 78, died Nov. 5, 2009, at Milford. She was born June 24, 1931, on the family farm near Staplehurst to Edward and Marie (Fritz) Suhr. On Dec. 3, 1950, she married Floyd Baack at St. John Lutheran Church, Seward. They farmed north of Utica until their retirement. Preceded in death by her husband Floyd; and brothers Lloyd, Wilbur and Wayne Suhr. Service was Nov. 9, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Utica. Interment was at Utica Cemetery, Utica. Allen Robert FRITZ, 58, died Nov. 4, 2009, in Stromsburg. He was born Jan. 3, 1951, at York to Iven and Mildred (Prochnow) Fritz. On June 18, 1977 he married Alice Cook at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Venus. They farmed north of Utica. Preceded in death by his parents Iven and Mildred Fritz; and sister Janet Fritz.
