Colbie HERMELBRACHT
Colbie Sophia Hermelbracht was born Oct. 30, 2009, to Brian and Sophie 
(Niemann) Hermelbracht at BryanLGH East Hospital in Lincoln. She died 
Nov. 1, 2009. Private family services and burial will be held. Arrangements 
were by Chermok Funeral Home, David City.

Shad FONG
Shad Wesley Fong, age 35, of rural West Point, died of cancer on Nov. 4, 2009. 
Services were Nov. 7, 2009, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood. 
Burial was in the Elwood Cemetery. Berryman Funeral Home of Cozad was in 
charge of arrangements. 

Donald DOERNEMANN
Mass of Christian burial for Donald Doernemann, 75, of Dodge, was 
Nov. 11, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Olean rural Dodge. 
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Donald died Nov. 7, 2009 
in West Point. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge was in charge of 
arrangements. 

Elmer HASS
Services for Elmer P. Hass, 84, of Fremont, were held Nov. 10, 2009, at 
Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial followed in Ridge Cemetery with Military 
Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post 20 and 
VFW Post 854. He died Nov. 7, 2009, at the Pathfinder House, Fremont. 

Edna KAPPIUS
Edna M. Kappius, 93, of rural West Point, died Nov. 12, 2009. A funeral 
Mass was Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Aloys. Burial 
was in the church cemetery. Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of 
arrangements.

James BRACHT
James B. "Jim" Bracht, 56, of Lincoln, died Nov. 10, 2009, at St. Elizabeth 
Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral Mass was Nov. 14, 2009, at St. Boniface Catholic 
Church, rural West Point. Burial was at the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Mary Jo THOMPSON
Funeral services for Mary Jo Thompson, 56 of Westminster, Md., formerly of 
Beemer, were Nov. 25, 2009, St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer. Burial 
was in the Beemer Cemetery. Mary Jo passed away on Nov 16, 2009 at her 
home in Westminster, Md. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom 
Thompson. Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sr. Leovigild SPENNER
Sister Leovigild Spenner, age 94, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of 
Christian Charity, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Nov. 21, 2009 
at the Convent. Funeral services were Nov. 25, 2009, at Holy Family 
Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Burial at Holy Family Convent 
Cemetery, Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by two sisters: 
Sister Marie Paula Spenner and Sister Johnitta Spenner. Pfeffer Funeral 
Home, Manitowoc, assisted with funeral arrangements.

Rodney ROEMER
Rodney L. 'Rod' Roemer, 63, Scribner, died Nov. 25, 2009, at his home in 
Scribner. Funeral services were Nov. 30, 2009, at Redeemer Lutheran 
Church in Hooper with burial in the Hooper Cemetery. 

Dorothy GIESE
Dorothy Helen Giese, 90, of West Point, died Nov. 27, 2009 in Beemer.
Funeral services were Dec. 1, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church
with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery. 

Shirley CARLSON
Shirley June Carlson, 84, Omaha, died Nov. 10, 2009. Shirley was born 
to Henry and Minnie Schwinck June 9, 1925, in West Point.
